Good Old Games

At the risk of being SPAMmy, I thought this business needed a plug because they're doing at least three things right that a lot of companies don't even think about doing. They're offering for sale "good, old games" with a high replay factor, have updated the code so that they will run on modern systems without "speed racer" syndrome affecting them, and the offerings are not infected with DRM. That's *no* DRM, no proprietary front-ends, no adware, no nothing. You pay your $6 - $9, download, install, and start playing.

Anyway, if you like older games like Duke Nuke'em, Rise of the Triad, etc., give these people a shot.

Here's a profile from Ars Technica:

1. Good site
Thank you for posting, there are a couple there that I wouldn't mind grabbing.

These days I seem to play nothing but Thief - there is a very healthy mod and fan mission community. Just ordered a new set of discs as the old ones are too worn.

2. I still play Baldur's Gate ...

... for the same reason. The modding community has turned the original game into something massive.

The original, full install of both BG I & II plus the expansions is something like 4GB. My current BG directory is over 30GB.

4. That's pretty cool
And timely too, since The Home of the Underdogs was recently shuttered.
