No system sounds, no you tube sound, but itunes works? Help!
I am still having sound problems.
No system sounds, no you tube sounds (videos work fine) no news video sounds, but iTunes, Rhapsody, Realplayer, amd Windows Media player sounds all work. It's driving me crazy that I can't find a solution.

I've checked :
Volume Controls
Drivers (all appear installed)
Codecs (ditto)
Control panel sounds
Run sounvol32
Realtek Sound manager
Plugs
Windows "help" haha
Googled about a thousand search strings
Various reboots and system restores

Ausus M2A-VM Motherboard
Realtek HD Audio
Windows XP SP3

Can anyone help?

1. When playing a youtube
video, have you check the sound control on that video? Muting youtube will sometimes affect all others played later.
