Governor tel# on speed dial?
Calypso the cat (7 months old) is going to the vet this morning for spaying...

last night we picked up all the food/water bowls - when one critter has to fast they all fast

so about 8pm, Calypso bounces up on the bed looking for attention. My partner says to her "tommorrow you get spayed, what do you think about that?"

Calypso laid her ears back and jumped to the nightstand, knocks the phone off the hook and steps on a speed dial button...

my partner hangs up the phone and says to me "What was that all about? You think she knows she's going to the vet?"

I smirk "yeah, and she's trying to speed dial the governor for a stay of spay..."

1. Ironically, Georgia's governor, Sonny Perdue (R) is going to spay a pet
Edited on Thu Feb-09-06 01:06 PM by CottonBear
in my city at the UGA vet school. He will spay and/or neuter two pets to promote pet population control! Apparently, he has kept his license current all these years.

Sonny Perdue graduated with a DVM but only practiced briefly right after graduation.

BTW, I really dislike my governor, Sonny Perdue, but this is not the forum for politics.

edit: sp.

2. Calypso doing fine
No problems or surprises and is doing good. We pick her up this morning anytime after 9 a.m.

our new vet keeps the newly spayed females (dogs/cats) overnight. I remember that as a kid, our female cats were always kept overnight after spaying. In more recent years the vets seemed to stop this and send them home the same day unless there were complications

meanwhile - we are still waiting for copies of the records for our other critters. Per newspaper article last Saturday, we dropped off a SASE envelope with a letter requesting copies. We were told at that time the records would be copies and mailed out on Monday. It's now Friday and nada...

my partner has a few phone numbers and will be making some calls if we don't have the records by tomorrow
