Pics of Jake's first trip outside
My son and I took Jake out for a "walk" this afternoon, and he spent about 1/2hour outside exploring hedges (he really, really liked the hedges), trees, birds, and a few people walking by.

He loved it. He led the way, and never once seemed the least bit frightened.

What a pleasure it was!!!!! To add to all this pleasure, the weather was absolutely beautiful!

Some pics:

Jake really liked walking on the stones better than on the grass. Go figure!

2. Thanks, BL
It was so fun! Now, if only I could get Spidey to like the harness, sigh.

3. Where'd you get the cool leash thingy?
The Daemon might like something like that, but he's so saucy, he would probably wriggle out of it. <sigh>

8. Here is the link for the harness
http://www.hdw-inc.com/walkingjackets.htm

It is pretty "wiggle-proof" as Spidey tries very hard to wiggle out of it, but, he can't.

4. Yeah! Is he sleeping now?
Did Spidey sniff him all over when he came in? Smells are intriguing!

7. Yes, how did you know?
Spidey did sniff him all over, and, he seemed to be a little annoyed that Jake had gotten all that attention. And, Jake did sleep when he came back in.

:hi:

5. You have actual grass! And it's green!

We still have half-frozen mud and a few blobs of dirty snow. But I'm going to get one of those harnesses for my guys, and when the weather improves, we're going on an adventure. Assuming, of course, that the boyz don't shred the harness, or me.

Kitty looks like he's having a great time.

6. I am in the Pittsburgh area
and, here, the grass was greener this winter than it was last summer. I highly recommend the harness...it seems to be quite durable.

9. Jake's a natural. He looks very confident in his harness,
almost proud. Sounds like you and your family are in for new adventures. You and your son could write a children's book: "Jake's Outdoors Adventures", co-authored by Jake, of course. Maybe Spidey will give in and allow you to put the harness on him after Jake communicates to him all the fun he has the huge and wonderful outdoors. Thanks for the pictures.

10. That would be such a fun thing to do!
I am sure Jake would have much to contribute to the book -- he was so excited yesterday!

Spidey has the harness on now as I type, and, he has actually been playing with it on. This is definitely an improvement.

Thank you for your input!

11. Actually
this is fairly typical Spidey behavior -- although I think he is just tired out from playing hard:
