Whiplash the Monkey, at age 18, is a rodeo star.

I have to ask why the monkey and not the dog. Check out the video. The dog's doing the hard work. The monkey's just hanging on for dear life.

Watch this clip. The dog is doing what he does best. Again, the monkey's just hanging on and hoping for a banana.

1. Because the monkey is more human like than the dog..
therefore he gets top billing. :( We humans have a very high opinion of ourselves.

2. I'll stick with the dog!
Harry Truman was right.

Our Border Collie is the very picture of unconditional love - as are almost all family dogs.

3. Me too, Stinky.
If man would take a few lessons from nature we wouldn't be in the mess we're in.

4. "The monkey's just hanging on and hoping for a banana."
The perfect description of the Bush Administration.

5. The dog is running
which is natural for a dog. The poor monkey is riding on a running dog...which is not natural for the monkey. I think my vote goes to the monkey as he/she is probably much more uncomfortable doing this than is the dog.

Monkeys are not humans. They are innocent animals as are dogs.

7. The monkey has been doing this for years (according to the story)
So obviously he has no fear of riding on a running dog.

I made no claim that says the monkey isn't an innocent animal, did I? I sure didn't intend to.

8. So sorry
I didn't mean to come across as judgemental. I do feel for the monkey AND the dog as I hate seeing animals exploited in the way those videos seem to suggest.

I was also reacting to the initial premise that the dog is doing all the work. The monkey's work is of a different nature, IMO, and is no less (and, I admit) probably no more than the work of the dog.

Peace.
