Is there a vet in the house? I rescued a baby squirrel this am
from the jaws of my landlord's cat. It's not dead, it's moved all it's appendages and it wiggles it's whiskers, and it's sleeping in a basket by my desk, in the folds of a sweater. It doesn't have teeth yet.

what do I do now? What can I feed it and how? It's been two hours since I found it and two hours until the first wildlife center opens. This thing might need a feeding soon. Should I keep it warm? Should I try to get the adult squirrels around here to notice? They feed at the foot of my porch.

Thanks

1. If you have a pet supply place close
some kitten milk replacement formula will fill it's stomach without causing too many problems from one or 2 feedings. You'll need either a bottle or feeding syringe. I'd go with the syringe but I've always had more luck with them than bottles and your mileage may vary.

4. thanks. I'm going to stock up
it's being picked up by a rescue center in a few mins. They said it's okay if I don't try to feed it before they get here.

but I think I'll go get some to stash with my other emergency supplies.

Thanks.

(or is it KMR?) you can also PM DUer Majorrabbit; she's a wildlife rehabilitator.

Good luck! :hi:

6. Good to know you found a rehabber
My daughter rehabbed several and they thrive on a yogurt/rat pellet mixture (don't have the exact recipe at hand). It's a mistake to try to give them milk.
