2. They cocked their heads at first......
Then they ran from room to room to try and find the animal who was making that noise.
Then my pup Osmosis zeroed in on one of the speakers and sat with his head cocked and face wrinkled for about ten minutes trying to understand what the whale was saying. (I Think)
Thurber (The pug) after a while tried to talk to the whale with these little short soundless barks.
Igore my other pup is too zen to be any fun. He just accepted the sound and went to sleep.Boogar.

5. one of my cats would freak.
She will sleep on my lap in the evening, and any small noise will make her lift her head and look around. That would send her flying into the basement I think.

6. The show on my radio alarm clock had a train sound this morning...
My lab (74 pounds) sat at attention on top of my legs with his head cocked looking out into the distance somewhere above the clock radio -- wondering if a train had moved into the neighborhood, I suppose.

;-)
