Well I knew things were going to get weird
after cookie lost his flock mate...but him ALLOWING me to scratch his head even if for oh a second? Now that WAS WEIRD. Our son is grieving but at least no chewing of feathers or anything like that.

Oh and yes, we do miss tuky, but I fear cookie misses him much more than we do.

1. Poor cookie
:-( But if he is allowing you to scratch his head, maybe that is his way of accepting comfort from you. I've never had birds as part of the family, but I have experience with grieving dogs....a big  for all of you.

2. He is allowing that now every day
and he spent fifteen minutes on my shoulder, highly unusual. He also jumped onto the kitchen sink and got a bath. (Really a shower)... he actually enjoyed that.

He also did not look freaked, just watching around... curious about what we were doing.

It's been strange. I think he is starting to bond either to me, or both me and my hubby... I am not sure.

It is a major life change for all of us but especially the Nanday... and they are very intelligent animals... so that is amazing.

4. Oh yeah and he is the most intelligent of the flock
He's done things like connect and disconnect USB ports... he likes the BOING. He's opened bottles... and he has done other things that have us going... YOU DID THAT?
