Vertigo, dizziness? Could it
be from clenching your jaws at night?

I had many of the symptoms listed on the linked web page, including head/neck/shoulder pain, blurry eye tics, and symptoms that were similar to sinusitis even though I use a neti pot frequently. I just had an excellent check up with my eye doctor, though I did mention the eye tics and other aches, he said my eyes were in good shape and he could see nothing that should be causing the symptoms. He said that allergies could be the cause

I recently started using a mouth guard that I bought at the drugstore in the area where they sell dental floss. It's very small and unobtrusive, very comfortable at night, and cost about $30.00 for a 2-pack. I also made a neckroll with a tightly-rolled bath towel using broccoli rubber bands to secure the ends. I put this under the edge of my pillow to keep my neck supported throughout the night. All of this has started to lessen the symptoms that I mentioned above. Of course, if you are having serious pain or other symptoms, you should consult your doctor or health care provider.

1. There's also something called cervicogenic dizziness...

For those experiencing what they feel is vertigo, cervicogenic dizziness mimics this very well. I've had it.

I carry tension in my neck and shoulder muscles. When there is chronic spasm from chronic tension, it can lead to cervicogenic dizziness.

And, yes, the jaw clenching contributes to increased neck tightness and such symptoms, too.

It's amazing how there is a domino effect, and where we're experiencing our pain or symptoms is often very different in location from the root cause.

I hope you and everyone else feels much better -- more balanced -- soon!

2. I use those foam pillows
that have the nice lip to support your neck with the depression for your head. Can't sleep with regular pillows anymore.

Sinus issues can give you dizziness. All that pressure in your head.

Neck exercises to give muscle strength, and massage for the tight muscles in the shoulders/neck. Sometimes I have to just take a deep breath and relax my shoulders.

3. yes, jaw clenching and grinding - i am working on jaw relaxation
exercises before bedtime and on/off during the day--basically you let your jaw drop, relax, etc.
