Have we discussed the concept of Pro Peace?

I just finished reading The Secret and there is a chapter about the World and how our thoughts can fuel the fire of that which we are opposed to. An example was war. When we keep shouting "Stop the war! Stop the war!" the Universe hears War! War! And then we get more war.

Instead the book suggests that we think Pro Peace. Then the Universe hears Peace! Peace! And we get more peace.

I was thinking how people in general (and DU) unintentionally fuel this fire everyday by saying what we are opposed to and not realizing what the Universe hears.

End the war on drugs
End hunger
People are living in poverty
B*** said...
End global warming
Stop the surge!
Let's discuss racism, homophobia, misogyny, violence...

Can we discuss ways to change our thoughts and can we help change the tone of DU so that we are serving our true intentions? How can we discuss the topics that matter to us and yet send the Universe the message we want it to hear?

1. When I saw the Secret last August there was one of those guys who

tends to like to control the dialogue who went around the room going from person to person wanting our responses after viewing it.

I said well if Wars tend to only make stronger that which we combat (which is apparently true) then why don't we declare a War on Love.

The controlling guy was rendered speechless and didn't get the joke at all. Others did. My friend who asked me to attend later said, "you were off script." tra la la

I've heard some spiritual sources confirm something I believe to be true and have been typing repeatedly for a long time.

"It is likely that in this still new millennium. . .(#2). . .wars are simply. . .no longer winnable."

2. Exactly.

That part sunk in for me too. I'm much more aware of all the 'anti' rhetoric. Still working on integrating it into RL. As for the discourse on DU, we have a chance, a bit at a time. I do hope the 'war protestor' leaders get wind of this and change directions to PRO PEACE.

3. I thought of posting this in a general forum

but couldn't get past my negative thoughts of it being beaten to shreds! So, I thought it best to post here first. Maybe I can manifest some better thoughts later!

I'm sort of notorious for getting away with a whole lot in terms of posting spiritual stuff in GD and remaining relatively unscathed.

I'd been doing it since for years but only over the last month did I dare to include astro speak. After doing it twice (once with no detractors-and the second time with only two out of a slew of affirmative responses,)
I got busted and demoted to the lounge for doing astrology in GD. tsk tsk and tra la la

Clearly the overwhelming majority was hungering for this stuff.

Initially I thought it's demotion was a mistake so I reposted it in GD. I got 17 rec's in less than a half hour before it got locked.

So I've had a block about doing a New Moon thread without including the astro speak.

Given that it's the New Moon in Aquarius it would be a great time to do a collaberative effort.

I'm happy to take the heat for it as I find doing so oddly and perversely entertaining.

I'll meditate on how to do a pro peace post and get something to post and edit up by tomorrow morning hopefully.

Open as ever to any and all suggestions.

6. What would be the positive for the war on drugs?

I personally believe that drugs should be legalized but I guess that's another thing entirely.
We should flesh out our arguments a tad...........

9. I've been thinking about this and you have a good question!

The answer is Pro Peace Pipes! I'm kidding.

Obviously, some will have differing opinions. I would like to see addictions cured or possession decriminilized, at least. But then again, cure addiction still can be heard as addiction, so I don't have an answer just yet. (I loaned my book to my mom, so I can't look it up and see if this was specifically addressed. Maybe someone else could check. It was in the chapter about the world.)

However, perhaps this is simply included in the big picture of peace and health.

10. Use responsibly ..

something along those lines? The first version of "The Secret" (with Esther Hicks) did a much more impressive task of getting this point across. She did that bit. The people at our viewing (1st version) last weekend who had only seen the second edition were all amazed at how much 'better' the first one was. ... I don't know how the book handles it.

7. Well you do as you see fit for sure but three things that may help. . .

1.Be mindful of the fact that there is a New Moon in Aquarius at 11:14 am EST on Saturday. Although Saturdays are sometimes slower than weekdays, it's probably going to be a far stronger post when we aren't at the dark of the Moon. OTOH synchronizing it with Oprah's thing on the Secret might be timely as well. If you want me to check the aspects for tomorrow I will be happy to do so.

2. Dunno what your backround is but I found adding the chant "nam-myoho-renge-kyo" at the end of my spiritual posts in GD really warded off most of the flamers and detractors. One time, I think it was on the election day prayer thread, I forgot to do so and attracted some mild criticism until on an early edit, I added it. Works like a charm I swear.

3. Be sure to alert your friends in the astro forum with a link when you post for back up. We have a lot of fun doing so as inspiring more spirituality in the political arena is certainly a shared goal.
