Question about a very intense dream...

Hi everyone,

I'm old to DU, but new to this group. I never knew that it
existed until someone provided a link in the religion/spirituality
group. I'm so glad I found you!

I am hoping to listen to opinions about a dream I had six months
ago. It has haunted me since, and I'm wondering what it means,
if anything.

First off, the dream happened while I was asleep. However, it
was different than a dream. It was incredibly vivid. I've
had dreams where childhood memories surface, and the clarity of
this dream was similar to those childhood-memory dreams.

In the dream, I was in a street and I watched a large aircraft
(flat, black, looked like a military plane) fly overhead. I
knew that we were in trouble. I saw a flash to my right and I
instinctively knew that a bomb was dropped and that I had limited
time to reach my children. I ran toward a fence, trying to get
to them, then the dream ended.

Here's one thing I do not understand. For a few months, I kept trying
to figure out where I was running. I was standing in my neighborhood,
and I was puzzled about why I would run to this particular fence. I
absolutely knew that it made sense, but the direction that I was running
in seemed off. Last week, I was lying in bed, thinking about this--and it
suddenly hit me. I was running toward my children's school--from our house.
That was it!! It was like a puzzle piece moved into place, and my "mind"
felt relieved that I figured it out. Does that make any sense at all?

Besides the context of the dream, I am fascinated that a part of my mind
gave me this dream and it made perfect sense to that part of my mind. However,
my conscious mind wasn't getting it---*I* wasn't getting it. In effect, there
is a part of me that did get all of this--and my conscious had to be "taught"
the answers. Again, am I making sense?

One last thing, after I had this dream I was incredibly emotional. I sat on the
edge of my bed, trying to ground myself--when my five-year old comes into my
room and says, "Mommy...I'm so upset, I had a bad dream. I dreamed that the whole
world caught on fire and that the dinosaurs came back". :wow:

If anyone has any opinions, I'm all ears. Again, I'm glad to find this
board and I'm excited to read the posts here and learn from all of you.

1. I don't know but several people have posted similar

dreams here over the last 6 months or so. Explosions and fire seem to be common place in our dreams recently. I'll just kick this for you...
