They were all collected on a rather useful little site I found a couple of days ago. I will be posting them later today, I swear. But right now, I can't (errands and stuff; also, freaked).

There were a fair number of things among them that I'd never considered, but that I got "hits" off of when I thought about them. One that didn't register, though, which, admittedly was from a list made by a professed psychic who seemed dead-on in all other regards, was the death of Prince Harry (a prediction made in July of '06). That was one I discussed with a friend of mine on Friday and she didn't get anything off it either...but I just found this in LBN:

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=102&topic_id=2735131&mesg_id=2735131

So, I think I'll give you guys some links later.

All of the links I went to were compiled on the blog for the so-called High Weirdness Project, which may not be the greatest organization in the world, but its list ended up giving me a panic attack or two, so here:

http://www.modemac.com/cgi-bin/wiki.pl/Psychic_Predictions_for_2007

I admit that this first link is a little silly, (she caters mainly to celebrities) but I'm putting it up anyway because she had a couple of bizarre things from her 2005 predictions come true recently:

http://www.psychicnikki.com/predictions.html

In addition to a pile of terrorism, she's predicting a health scare for Laura Bush, an attack on Air Force One, an Iran invasion plus assassination of its President, a UFO landing in DC, and poisoned potatoes. If you want, you can over her list of predictions for 2005 and see if anything more than the correct ones I noticed (Arnold Schwarzenegger’s broken leg, (#38) and Kerry's daughter's decision to become a filmmaker (#89)) came through.

By far the scariest links, in my opinion, were the ones that went to Art Bell's website and to the Skeptic Friend's Network's annual psychic prediction contest. From Art Bell...

http://xaerius.vox.com/library/post/predictions-for-2007-part-i.html

Predictions there suggest that Iraq will broken into three sections, the US Senate will go back to the Republicans (!), an increase in animal attacks on humans--mentioned elsewhere on other sites I've seen--a new Jaque Cousteau figure will emerge, a significant UFO sighting, and a new serial killer will be discovered who is caught with many, many bodies around his property--another thing I’ve seen mentioned elsewhere which registers a major hit for me...I think the discovery will be in Canada. #52 on Bell’s list is also super frightening...a US aircraft carrier getting hit with a Sunburst missile from Iran as it sits in the Gulf. I’m not getting a hit there, but that is a strong possibility, considering that we have several carriers parked in the Gulf right now, all sitting-duck like.

And then, there were the predictions submitted during the Skeptic Friends Network annual prediction contest.

http://www.skepticfriends.org/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=6617

A user named PapaSmurf predicts the deaths of both Dick Cheney (also predicted by user pleco) and Kim Jong Il, as well as an eruption of Mt. Reiner.

A mysterious poster named Antigone predicts both Prince Harry’s death and the death or removal (? she’s cryptic) of the current pope:

The Empire's son and second Prince will remain his age in 2007 for ever. Harry, be ready for your mum, for she will be the first to greet you while your dad and brother say goodbye...
Such a short reign for you, the successor of Peter and John Paul. But will we see the smoke and hear the bells toll?

Antigone is, with others there, also predicting Hawking’s death. She also appears to be predicting three major disasters for the world in 2007, implying that the world may go to the brink three separate times.

The rest of the "hits" for me on that list are, of all things, the poisoned potatoes, (either that or poisoned crops of another variety, and I'm thinking that may start happening in the late summer) the animal attacks, (I'm thinking bears will maul many this year) the death of the pope (I got a huge chill when I read that one) and the emergence of a 'new Jacque Cousteau.' I'm also not getting a good feeling about anything in the Mid-East right now, but that's not new.

Sorry to keep the suspense up, but there's another link I'm not going to post because it really made my hair stand straight up. No hits, but just the idea of that happening terrifies me. (A random psychic on a UK site predicted that Nancy Pelosi would be faced with something significant and negative on February 20th, along with some other scary stuff. Not Nancy! That prediction is scaring me because I feel she is definitely one of the people the Republicans most want to target, because they don't want her to be the one left in charge if Bush is removed, maybe because she's a woman, maybe because she's a liberal, or maybe because she's a big fan of another politician they don't want anywhere near the WH.)

Anyone else getting anything off this new batch of stuff, or am I just over-reacting?

10. Okay. Phew.
I guess that first post just made me wig out because a) if anything happens to my beloved John Kerry now that he isn't even running for president anymore, I will die, and b) I've been predicting the dreaded Clinton/Edwards ticket for a while...just not now. (...any other time but now...)

8. EVERYTHING is mutable.
Edited on Sun Feb-18-07 01:49 PM by davsand
I understand how some of this can feel strange and it rates high on the "creepy scale," but I honestly can't get terribly worked up about stuff predicted as if there is NO avoiding it because I have always felt predictions are based on that particular moment in time if nothing changes. I'm not blowing off these predictions, but when I look at some of it it seems to me that it is just common sense stuff.

Please understand, I am NOT dismissing it (or you for putting up here) but I am not able to let myself get terribly worked up by much of it, and I hate to see you let it run your day either. I see some of this stuff as being kind of, well--predictable.

Will there be more death and misery in the Middle East? Yeah, I'd say it is a safe bet that the centuries of hostility are gonna continue.

Will there be more attacks on the US and our forces while we are in the Middle East? Yep, nobody seems to be too thrilled to see us over there, I'd say it is a pretty safe bet that we will take more hits as long as we are there. Additionally, I'd say it is a pretty likely that our military assets in that area are wearing BIG old targets--including our carriers. I doubt we'll be getting all our people out any time soon, either...

Harry is headed to Iraq--Yep, I'd say his danger level is increasing. Seems a whole lot more dangerous there than it is at a party in Soho...

The Pope thing--well--I dunno. They have had Popes attacked before, and from what I have been reading over the years there does seem to be some danger from within the church--not just from outsiders. I don't remember specifics, but I think I remember reading about more than a couple of Popes over the years that were killed off with poison and palace intrigue.

Hawkings has been ill for quite some time, and from what I remember, his physical condition has been worsening in recent years. I can't imagine what it must be for THAT mind to be trapped in a mostly non-functional body. Again, I have to say it really wouldn't be a huge surprise if that soul does decide to move on...

Similarly, I've been saying (along with a lot of other folks who do not claim this to be a psychic thing) for a LONG time that Unca Dick is probably not going to live out this term. All you have to do is see a picture of the man when he's retaining water from his Congestive Heart Failure (which they have admitted in the press more than once) and it is evident he's a very sick man.

Some of it really IS interesting--especially the natural disaster predictions. THAT kind of stuff just can't be changed by choices made (usually) and it really is striking when it comes to pass.

Please do try and not let this get to you--OK? Can you read it and just kind of carry it in the back of your mind without feeling fear from it?

Laura

18. "Fear is the mind killer."
Ywp, I'm quoting Frank Herbert here. I'm outing myself as a reader of a specific genre that is seen as "geeky" and I am trusting you all not to judge me too harshly for it...

In the Dune series, Herbert created a sect called the Bene Gesserit.* They are viewed by some as witches, but they mostly are just well trained and mentally disciplined social manipulators.

While I'm not terribly impressed with the characters as human beings, and I am in no way suggesting that you model your behaviors AFTER them, I do want to suggest something to you. One mental technique used by the Bene Gesserit is the Litany Against Fear. Consider it as a sort of mantra:

"I must not fear.
Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear.
I will permit it to pass over me and through me.
And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
Where the fear has gone there will be nothing.
Only I will remain."

I dunno--maybe a "literary" approach won't work for you, but I figured it couldn't hurt!

Regards!

Laura

I saw that! Monsanto's genetically engineered potato is causing problems in the human system. If that's any indicator whatsoever of what GE foods can do, it is quite alarming.

Did you read on one of the first ones that she predicted Anna Nicole Smith would die? On the other hand, she's predicted a lot of people will die. If only a fraction of those people die, it will be a loss-filled year.

I think her timing was off a bit on ANS.

If the past is any predictor, a few of the things from each of the sites will come true.

I was clicking around at C2C's site and ran across a link that showed how 2007 is really 2012. Now that one had me a little on edge. I'll go see if I can find it and if I do, I'll post back.

on edit: this is a bit far out but here it is:

17. No, actually
I didn't read any of the links, just BI's comments. There are a few places my mind doesn't care to spend time. Reading or listening to most 'predictions' fall into that category.

As for 2012 .. it doesn't scare me. I have to give up fear. There are plenty of real like happenings that could scare the beejeebus out of me; but I can't let them. I always cite the case of Rev. Sun Myung Moon. In March 2004, he was crowned Messiah in one of OUR Senate office buildings.
This is pure silliness. It freaked me for quite some time.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sun_Myung_Moon#Crowned_by_Members_of_United_States_Congress

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sun_Myung_Moon

So, there are enough things right in our faces, no speculation required, to get upset about.
Personally, the message, delivered to me, tells me to be Joyful.

It isn't our natural state. Yesterday I read that being critical is hard wired into humans. It is a survival instinct. We have to discern when something is not 'right'. It takes a lot of effort to see good in all and speak good for all situations. My ego has been on hyper-alert and still bugs me with its critical chatter.
... sorry got a bit off topic.

I'll take a look at the links, due to your comments. Made me curious :D

12. Okay here is the antidote.
It is forever a prayer. . .

"We are creating with spirit that the military make an announcement to this cabinet that they cannot win and a surge will be pointless. We are creating with spirit that an inspired thought get through the pRes's seemingly blockheaded arrogance. We are creating with spirit that the suffering being perpetrated on this sphere cease and greater enlightenment come to be, globally. We are creating with spirit that more become far more aware than any media details allow. We are creating with spirit that awareness overcome disregard for the health and happiness of all human beings. We are creating with spirit a lasting peace on Earth."

"Rinse and Repeat"

Perhaps in this still new millennium. . .wars are very simply, no longer winnable.

This proposed surge has been best described as nothing more than a "vendetta on failure." I'd much prefer a surge in consciousness and true diplomacy instead. Silly me."

I got this from St Germain altered, and posted in four other places this morning.

peace be upon us soon.
