Actually, for my husband. It seems, after a startling and unpleasant discussion with one of his co-workers last night (and formerly a friend, but we don't think we can see him that way any more..) that he is at an impasse at his job. He loves it, and is in the best club in the state, but they are paying him wayyyyyy less than the other guys, and he has the absolute worst four shifts of the week. The only way he makes a decent amount of money is when the other djs throw him a night or weekend shift. He has discussed this with management to no avail, so far. He is waiting for the club to finish construction on the second floor VIP section, but that was supposed to have been completed last month. He was going to use the date of opening plus two months as a bellweather to see if the money on his shifts improved; and if they did not, was going to find somewhere else to work. But we don't have a completion date for the upstairs, and meanwhile, it's hand-to-mouth. Now, the other dj that he thought was at least sympathetic to him, basically told him that he didn't care, and that it is only Shawn's fault that he isn't making money, and that he will have to just live with what he's getting - that he will never move up the chain and get better shifts.
Any insight into this situation, either by chart or by tarot or by intuition, would be greatly appreciated. We don't know what move to make next. The owner and the VP of the company seem to like Shawn very much, and so do most of the managers, and all of the girls. He does his job very well. And for those of you familiar with his problems before, no, they have not been repeated - he is really keeping on the ball when it comes to that.
Should he look for other work now? He is starting to put some feelers out on the dl, but we just can't get a feel for if he should expect to make that kind of a jump or not. It's very risky. Maybe he should just ride this out?
His info: Shawn O. 4-15-1977 1:24 PM New Orleans, LA
Again, I would be very grateful for any insight you have. Thanks so much...
