Rick DiClemente's March Starself Astrology Newsletter

Welcome to March
, well, what else can I say….? Things will be very intense from March 4-7 and again around Spring, on March 20, 21. Time to get moving! Mars is here with Pluto, and that means: take action. I’ve been giving a lot of thought to this new Pluto in Capricorn time period. It’s always so hard to explain this to the lay person, but, I see it like this:

Sometimes in life we can feel it coming… we can feel it building up… and the sense is that sometimes we just need WHOLESALE SWEEPING CHANGES IN OUR LIVES…. Now is one of those times.

Heading into a period like this is very uncomfortable for me. I feel compelled to warn people of coming tensions, etc. Yet, that’s not really the purpose of astrology – to teach you when to duck. And I don’t want to be a doomsayer. Astrology tells us, if we listen correctly, what TYPE of thing will be coming. It is up to so many other factors in the charts to determine what will in fact happen. March will be a month where we need to ACT. And I’m talking about acting on matters that are no surprise to us. Matters that have been outstanding and unresolved for a long, long time (Pluto.) The way the planets seem to work it this: the more we act, the more they support us. The more we don’t, the reverse is true. This should come as no surprise to anyone as the “planets” are merely symbols of our own urges.

May your March be productive, fulfilling, and as uneventful as possible.

Watch Out For March 4th!

So why is MARCH 4 so important and so dangerous?

1. Because Pluto is in early Capricorn.
2. Pluto has not been challenged yet.
3. Mars enters Cancer on March 4th around 4:30am.
4. Mars will oppose and trigger Pluto.

That’s why.

What will happen? Who knows, but it may very well be intense. When Mars combines with Pluto, it often times signifies anger, violence and aggression among other not-so-fun things. Of course, most of us slip by and not much happens. It depends on where it is in your chart, how nice you are, how much remaining karma you still have to cook….

But

It is very symbolic of long-term, held-in emotions that need expressed. Sometimes better known as rage. Hopefully not, but look for things to be UPROOTED - that’s the key word. If you help it, it will go well.

What does one do? Besides hiding, I strongly recommend that one lays low for the day. Learn to limbo. Of course the world simply won’t go away, so, suffice it to say: Be careful, be very, very careful. In most cases, the energies have already been set in motion to begin with. So, do not underestimate the power or ill-intent of your enemies at this time. Avoid all conflict if possible.

CHIRON RESEARCH

In Martin Lass’ wonderful book on Chiron, “Chiron – Healing Body and Soul,” he describes this asteroid/comet/dwarf planet eloquently, “It represents what we feel is most missing, unbalanced, unjust and/or most in need of correction, fixing or getting rid of in our lives. This, in return, determines what we seek in life, who we related to or not, the paths we walk, things we will attract or repel, and the destiny we will meet. In short, the natal placement of Chiron outlines our specific wounds/voids that determine our values. In addition, it encapsulates the healing path and the gifts in our wounds.”

I’m keeping a very close watch on Chiron these days. Its mysterious nature of being the “wounded healer” has me mystified. It seems to push us hard towards some destiny, at times, even stronger than Pluto or Uranus. For better or worse, Chiron inspires us to do something special, in some type of attempt to heal our own “wounds.” It drives many of us to be famous; others, infamous. Here are some of the notable findings I’ve come up with so far…

So Much for Being a Spaced-out Pisces

Albert Einstein, March 14, 1879 11:30am, Ulm, Germany

Albert Einstein was a German-born theoretical physicist. He is best known for his theory of relativity and specifically mass-energy equivalence, E = mc2. Einstein received the 1921 Nobel Prize in Physics for his research in the field of photoelectricity. At that time Pluto was crossing his ascendant, and Uranus, his midheaven! Einstein's many contributions to physics include his special theory of relativity, and his general theory of relativity.

What does an examination of his chart show us? The main construct in the chart is a “bucket pattern,” where 10 planets are fanned out, all “hanging” from Uranus in the third house of the mind in brilliant Virgo! What phenomenal intellectual power that gave him. Moreover, Chiron and Neptune form a significant conjunction in Taurus in his eleventh house. This Neptune (his native ruler) gave him his intuition and imagination he is noted for. If that weren’t enough, a very powerful T-square was formed from a Jupiter-Uranus opposition to prominent Pluto in Taurus. No wonder he split the atom. Pluto. Taurus.

Rounding off his chart, we find his Piscean Sun in the public tenth house along side of Mercury, Saturn, and Venus in Aries, making him quite the public figure. So much for the “limited or retarded mind,” quoted in old astrology books when referring to Saturn’s close proximity to his Mercury (mind,) huh (and they are 1° apart)?

Pluto started to square the Chiron-Neptune conjunction in the late 30’s, as this typically pacifistic Pisces regretfully helped to develop the atomic bomb. Ironically, this man who was to become Time Magazine’s, “Man of the Century,” passed away as the same Pluto squared its natal position exactly.

Edgar Cayce

March 18, 1887 3:20pm Hopkinsville, KY

Known as America's "Sleeping Prophet," psychic Edgar Cayce claimed an ability to channel answers to questions on subjects such as health, astrology, reincarnation, and Atlantis while in a self-induced trance. Although Cayce lived before the emergence of the New Age movement, he remains a major influence on its teachings. His foundation thrives today in Virginia Beach, VA. Cayce gave thousands of healing messages to people from all over the world with a high degree of accuracy.

Where did this other-worldly ability come from? His unparalleled intuition came from several sources. Start with 4 planets in mystical Pisces along with his North Node, while his Sun and exalted Venus lie in the "occult" 8th house. Powerful Uranus in Leo lies right at his ascendant giving him tremendous mental acuity from "on high." And, Moon/Neptune/Chiron are a beacon in his 9th while iconic Pluto calls him from the midheaven! Jupiter trine Neptune gave him great spiritual inspiration and augmented his Piscean sense of service to mankind.

5. I *did* enjoy it, Rick.
I was not awre of the concept of an intercepted house. I want to learn more about that.

I loved the thought of being born on Mars and how Earth would be in the chart.

Let's hope for the best on the 4th! :(

6. absolutely love these Newsletters
Their intelligence blended with humor and wit make for fascinating reading and, wouldn't you know it?, you actually LEARN something at the end of it all!

I agree that astrologically March 4th into March 7th looks like a doozy with tentacles that reach into and beyond that March 20th, 21st period.

Stay safe, y'all.

14. Yes, I have wanted to officially study astrology for a while, vsm.
I've been studying with Rick for around 20 classes so far. I started as a complete beginner because I wanted to make sure that I wasn't missing anything.

I'm still a novice, but I've been able to understand more of what's being discussed here.

The people in my class are absolutely wonderful and are true kindred spirits.

Surprisingly, I appear to be somewhat of a "troublemaker" in class, but Rick's been a really good sport about my not always accepting things without further discussion. (His allowing me to question shows that he's a good teacher and that he doesn't have ego issues.) I wonder if he'll invite me back to join his next class, though. :D

19. I love and thank you for the newsletter,
I am glad that court is on 3/3 but as I understand the effects start a little earlier and last until some time later, too? Ugh - I was so exited about tomorrow and forgot the other side will explode in anger (possible poison arrows...) thanks for the reminder - I will put up my strong shield around my family and home.

Extensive Chiron info there - I have to explore that further.

22. Hi vsm
I think I'm finding the whole things is much more subtle than I expected. I know it has me stirring at a very deep level. Keep in mind to that it's being confused somewhat by yesterdays New Moon in Pisces with Transiting URanus.

The SHIFT of Mars bumping into Pluto in Capricorn is at a very deep level. "WHat are you doing? Are you really cleaning up your act?" those types of questions. "You KNOW you're a lot stronger than you think", etc. etc.

Those are the types of things I'm noticing. And a bad case of pneumonia, yuck.
I did a workshop last night and the 10 attendees are noticing the ground change beneath their feet. This type of thing takes a very wide-angle lens in order really grok what it's up to. But, it IS up to something. People are taking a "more serious stance", is what I see.

Keep tuned!
