Tonight I filled in at a location which is located at the front of a WalMart. There wasn't much to do, so I just sat and smiled at anyone who walked by and looked my way.
I quite enjoyed it :D

4. I noticed one lady ..

who appeared to be deep in serious thoughts. She barely glanced my way when I smiled a little. I just saw the corner of her mouth twitch just a bit. Not a full smile. I was hoping she would go ahead and smile later on. I'm sure of it ;)

5. one good way to get people to smile

Is to have a clean, well behaved, outgoing toddler with you at the grocery store. My smile doesn't seem to perk people up a lot. The only people who don't react positively to children like this are seriously, seriously depressed.

However, I will try to be more in the moment instead of being in lala land like usual, and notice if the people around me might need a smile. But maybe I need to tote grandson around more! The way he eats now the clean part might be challenging.

6. There was a time in my life when I was very sad

I had PTSD and panic disorder and I still remember complete strangers smiling at me and what a huge diffence it made in my life. They made me feel not so alone, and that there was hope that one day I would smile again at strangers too.
