The Man Who Wrote Hitler's Horoscope
http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2008/03/03/tech/main3901723.shtml

Desperate for a glimpse into Adolf Hitler's unpredictable mind, British spies hired an astrologer during World War II to write horoscopes for him and other Nazi leaders, documents declassified Tuesday show.

......................

The file released to Britain's National Archives catalogs the frustrations of MI5 handlers as they tried to prevent the astrologer, Louis de Wohl, from publicly embarrassing high-ranking intelligence and military officers.

........................

In London, de Wohl claimed variously to be a Hungarian nobleman, the nephew of an Austrian conductor, the grandson of a British banking magnate and a relative of the Lord Mayor of London. His break came, he wrote in a later book, during a dinner at the Spanish Embassy, when a Spanish duchess asked de Wohl to reveal Hitler's horoscope to Britain's foreign secretary, Lord Halifax.

Sir Charles Hambro, the head of Britain's Special Operations Executive, soon hired de Wohl as part of his network of agents across Europe.

.................................

His task in the U.S. was to counter a convention of pro-German astrologers that had predicted Hitler would win the war. Billing himself as "The Modern Nostradamus," de Wohl proclaimed the stars showed the opposite - that Hitler would lose.

This is fascinating. He kept his job because they didn't want him spilling the beans that he was hired in the first place.

1. I think that the governments of the world use astrology (as well as other esoteric arts)...
all the time. It's my understanding that Nancy Reagan used it throughout Reagan's two terms to determine the best times to do things policy-wise so that the administration would have as little blow-back as possible. It seems to have worked really well for them. x(

I agree with you, itsjustme; it truly is fascinating.

you can't tell me the neo-cons don't have a couple of really excellent astrologers on call 24-7 to guide them in the execution of their schemes. Or, you know, chained up in a basement somewhere under threat of torture if they don't provide the 'cons with the best insights possible.

You gotta wonder what kind of karma the astrologers and psychics who help these fascists are working through. Anyone ever heard the story of the astrologer Hitler used? That's an interesting one, too.

or provide a link? My curiosity is piqued.

5. I can't find any good links right now, but what I read is that a man
was giving Hitler astrological advice in the early part of his rise to power. At some point in late '33 or early '34, (I think) the astrologer told Hitler that Hitler's only real obstacle in his quest for world domination would come from his military. If Hitler could eliminate any disloyal persons there and cut the potential mutiny off at the pass, the astrologer told him: "I see only victory for you; nothing can stop it." So Hitler ransacked the files of his top military advisors, decided a bunch of them were suspect and had a lot of them wiped out in the infamous "Night of Long Knives." In the process, he discovered that his astrologer was a reformed Jewish man (from Czechoslovakia?) in hiding in Germany and had the astrologer murdered as well. (If anyone here knows that story better, please feel free to correct me.)

4. I wonder if they don't have remote viewers, as well
There isn't any evidence that they have a program since it was stopped, but maybe it went into the "black" part of the budget.

there is alot of bull around RV (as w/anything) and then there are credible people that were involved with the program. I love the way the military treats occult, esoteric matters like so many people don't even have a clue about them-really? There are many people who have natural talent (worldwide)and they know they have it--not all of them want to be using their ability for military purposes!

10. I once dated a naval intelligence officer ..

He had gone to reserve status after his service years. After the Iraq war started, he was called up. He served there for a year and then took a job with a private contractor. I assume doing the same thing, intelligence.

He was a Mormon and a Mason. Another Mormon guy told me that Mormons can't be Masons, but this guy was both. We didn't get very close for personal reasons, but he did tell me that he was using Tarot cards to help him "catch the bad guys". When I mentioned RV, he said he had never heard of it, which I doubted.

In the end, we quit talking because it could go nowhere. He was afraid that my pagan ideas might be a bad influence on his kids.

7. When I first entered the national astrological community,
Edited on Tue Mar-18-08 06:09 PM by stellanoir
all of the older boomers were all up in arms about the founders of the AFA being

rumored to have been taking 6 figure salaries from the Department of War, and not even being true astrologers.

They've probably since sadly passed.

Still the rumor persists that they were hired by FDR, not because he necessarily believed in astrology, but because he wanted to know what Hitler's astrologers were telling him, they were hired, regardless of their histories.

The other rumor in the Astro community is that when Adolf heard from his astrologers, "hey it's over adolph." Separately, they were all put to death,

Charming and heartwarming, isn't it?

/sarcasm
