Dreams with very clear faces
Within the past month or so, I've had dreams where I see the faces of people I don't know. I have always had dreams with characters in them but for me the characters were people I knew or kind of faceless generic type people. The change is that I now clearly see faces of unknown people.
Do you normally have dreams populated with real looking people whom you don't know? Is this significant?

1. No, I don't recall the faces in my dreams. Actually, though, I don't...
really remember much of my dreams -- just a bit when I wake up, and then the memories are gone. (Where do they go, and what makes this happen????) When I do remember my dreams, they're almost never vivid.

I don't recall whether I usually know the people in my dreams.

I rarely get more than 6 hours of sleep a night, so that might be why I don't have many dream memories.

4. Six hours of sleep?
Do you feel rested when you wake up?
If so, I'm envious of you. I need eight hours or else I drag.

5. I always feel tired regardless of how much sleep I get, so...
no, I don't feel rested. I really should get more sleep, but I can't seem to drag myself to bed earlier than I do. (I'm so tired that I don't have the energy to do those things that I need to do before I can go to bed.)

I recently saw a show about the brain on the Discover channel, and it said that if you get less than 6 hours of sleep a night, you're causing your brain to age prematurely. Well, by now, I guess I have a pretty old brain. :(

7. Oh dear.
Can you at least make up for some of the lost sleep on the weekend? Well,
I hope you are now taking a cat nap and won't see this message until tomorrow. ;)

15. My husband teaches a meditation class Saturday morning at our home...
so Saturday mornings are not a day to sleep in. I can on Sundays, so I sometimes get between 7 & 8 hours then.

I just need to decide to take better care of myself, and then I'll make it happen. :)

2. not dreams, but
Sometimes, as I am falling asleep, I get third eye visions. And occasionally they involve seeing faces of people I don't know. I wonder if they are "real" people, or my invention. They are usually doing just mundane things. This is a little like a pre dream state.

I used to be able to sort of pick my dream....if I started to fall asleep, and didn't like the dream I was falling into, I would shake myself awake and start on something else. I did that quite a bit when I was a kid.

3. Third eye visions
I'm not familiar with that term and was wondering if you could explain it or send me a link where I could read more.
One of the very clear faces I saw was in that state just as I was falling asleep. It may be a third eye vision.

6. it is just the location
The "third eye" is on the forehead, where the sixth chakra is. So when the Bible or some other tradition talks about "visions" that is what they are talking about. Maybe some people can have them when awake, but I almost always get them when I am falling asleep. Like I said, there doesn't seem to be anything psychic or prophetic about mine. However, some people make claims like that for theirs.

Maybe these are induced by changes in brain wave patterns or something. I like to get them, and can sometimes consciously get them, on purpose, but always before sleeping (for me).

8. Thanks,
My visions/dreams of people are probably not significant.
The first time it happened, I wondered whether I should keep a look out for someone who looked like the person in my dream. Now I'm thinking the vision was just random -- after all, I see a lot of people everyday and my brain may just have mushed some things together.

9. Ask them who they are.
In the dream as it happens. If later, flatten the facial image or see it in black and white; then ask it who it is. Good luck.

10. Hi, in search of.
Regarding faces, no I can't really say that I've had many dreams like that. Especially with people I don't know.
I would say that the dream is significant. You might want to try and recall: what were these people doing? Are they trying to help you? Give you advice? Or are they just there as a support group?
If you believe one author (sorry, I can't remember his name right now) he claims that we belong to a "core group" of people which is our group. When we pass over to the other side, we rendez-vous with them and compare notes, discuss how much progress we've made in this current life time.
This group of people we sometimes make plans to meet them in real life while in the mundane world. It's all stuff made up in advance as we plan out our current life.
The idea is to grow in maturity.

So if you are seeing clear images of people, this could possibly be part of your core group. These people might be wanting to tell you something. He went into details about dream images as harbingers of big things to come, as events which were imminent.
Maybe you will meet one of them, in real life soon.
I'm not sure as I'm no expert.

I just thought that book was so amazing, my life has not been the same since.

12. That's what I thought at first too
I think you're thinking of Michael Newton, Journey of Souls, or something like that. I was affected by that book and think of its premises often.
One person I saw in a dream was a young woman in her 20s with short punky red hair. She was just sitting there.
Another person I saw in my dream was a nebbishy man about 40. I was in hotel room and he was a ghost in the dream who walked by me. He looked at me as he walked on by but kept going on. Odd.

16. Yes, that's the one.
Michael Newton. I believe he's published a second book on the 'Journey of Souls'.

Re: dream visitors. Yes, there is a chance these could be significant people for you. Especially if they are looking at you, like the one did.
You might want to see if they return, or if they are trying to communicate something to you, or just be with you as friends.

I'm going to see if I'm doing the same thing myself over the next few nights.

14. Maybe it is common
All I know is that I just started having such dreams, where I focus on the person's face and see it clearly.
I hope others join in so we can find out whether it is common or not.

17. I kinda get dreams like that, but mine are in different circumstances
usually at a party type get together, with kids running around and the adults sitting around talking and laughing - it's always a bright sunny day. The other significant one I have is sitting in a classroom studying or listening to a lecture, but I cannot remember what the topic is, but I do know it is significant. Ala Michael Newton, I wonder too if it is my core group I am with and we are working on something important here. It must be or why would I be in a classroom?
