The Great Unlearning

I spent the first thirty years of my life immersed in books;seeking knowledge. I've spent the last twenty years seeking wisdom. And now, for me, comes the Great Unlearning.

The essay is written as a "look back" from 2050.


Quoted within the essay:

"Working on the Way breaks down into three essential tasks:
1. Developing the sensitivity needed for contact with Being.
2. Gaining the insight into the conditions on which the experience of Being depends.
3. Practicing to eliminate everything that separates us from Being and develop everything that connects us with it. The purpose of this is to achieve an overall state (including the body) that enables us to stay in touch with Being and manifest it in the world."

If my understanding is even close, this is what it's all about. This is why we're here. We are part of something that is so much greater than the ourselves. We are the power and presence of God having an experience of itself.

And we are to work on simply BEING. With this comes an appreciation, a joy, a wonder at all that life offers. It's like looking at everything afresh and new.
