VERY strange dream I had the other night

I don't post here very often, but like to check in frequently because I find the subject matter fascinating. I just wanted to relate a dream I had a few nights ago (as well as I can remember it) and see if anyone had any thoughts about its meaning.

The dream started with me in a huge room, such as at a convention center, with hundreds of other people of all races and from all walks of life. Some unknown entity started playing tricks on us, with an orange cat involved each time. In one instance I was forced to look upward while the trickster dropped a piece of chalk, which the cat was supposed to catch in its paws. Instead the chalk fell in free fall and struck me in the eye.

After that it was all though all hell was unleashed, as though to try to force all of the people in the room to try to escape, but we couldn't. Leaves, tree branches, literal bacteria and viruses large enough to be visible to the naked eye, even such things as traffic barrels and water cooler bottles flew through the air and forced us all to try desperately to escape, but every time we got to a door there were large vehicles obstructing our path and keeping us in the building. Then there were unseen entities encouraging us to try to steal electronic items such as iPods. I tried to pay for an iPod for a friend's son's birthday (which happens to be today, and we had gotten his little sister an iPod shuffle a few months ago for her birthday), but the entity wouldn't let me have it. I remember seeing several Indian women (South Asian) in saris and bejeweled clothing (my husband is Pakistani, and I do mingle with such people frequently) - they were also trying to buy things, but weren't allowed.

Somehow we were able to get outside eventually, and then I woke up very disturbed. It was a frightening, frenetic atmosphere and very vivid.

What does anyone think this may mean? Thanks in advance!

As I was reading your post, it reminded me of how our country is currently operating. Those who are trying to live with integrity are being thwarted. We can't trust any of the rules anymore. (I don't know about the cat though.)

3. I think you've predicted what the election season's going to be like.

This is what I key in on...

-- Your dream is set in a convention center (where lots of business is done) so perhaps you think the business community will be affected...

-- false scarcities (you can't buy an Ipod)

-- (fake?) emergencies and calamities are being literally thrown at you, by entities deliberately manipulating things - I think these are hyped up/false news stories.

-- the entities manipulating things are staying out of direct view, much like ceiling cat! which makes me think you've tied the trickster into the Internet. Anyway, they're not quite getting it right. The stupid kids that they hire to pull off Internet hijinks are getting caught in their attempts, and you see it.

-- you're not allowed to escape!! But you see it for what it is, that thugs are holding you hostage to the false dangers.

-- You eventually escape to wonder why the hell anyone would put people through this.

I say it's because it's the only chance McCain (at least) has of running a successful campaign.

And because you do escape, I think that you've predicted a non-McCain presidency. Thank goodness.

I like these impressions very much. I do remember at the end of the dream being in a parking lot with my fellow sufferers, and we were so relieved to have gotten out, but it seemed as though the unseen entity(ies) was laughing at us. Disturbing!

do you have any feelings that someone in your social circle or work environment is being dishonest in any way?

The dream reminds me of one of mine that was related to the terrible conditions at my work place. People were being tortured.

I always take "path" pretty literally in dreams. Something blocking the path is significant.

6. Not that I'm aware of

I'm actually on a leave of absence from work (I'm a legal aid attorney) to rehab from two herniated discs. My days consist mostly of going to PT/doing home/gym exercises and watching MSNBC. I think my mind is stirred up because of the Democratic primary situation.
