1. How do you know when you have extra?

This bit of DU knowledge has always eluded me. :D I just donated, and the message said my star was updated, but I don't know if I have extra to give or not. How can I find out? Thanks! :hi:

2. You have to donate in the person's name.

When you fill out the form to donate, you need to change your name on the "Assign donor star to" part of the form to instead be the person's to whom it is to be donated.

5. It's kind of like the valentine thing.

If you are planning to donate $25.00, you can do it in increments, i.e. $5.00 for your own star, and the rest donated in the names of others. When I've done this in the past, I tried to keep it manageable ($5.00 per donated star) for Skinner and the other moderators.
