I think your analysis is spot-on. Your reading revealed that there is SO much going on behind the scenes. I think this is "The Wizard of Oz" type stuff where there is a complete disconnect between the imagery, versus the reality.

There is such a disconnect between what appears to be going on in this race and what actually is going on that sometimes I feel nauseated trying to reconcile it. It's like a chasm at this point.
