Determine your Tarot Court Card

In the Tarot, the Court Cards can represent people, moods or events, or aspects of your own personality.

Each card corresponds to an astrological sign; for example, as a female Gemini my Court Card is the Queen of Swords, which represents the Air signs. However, my personality is more akin to the Queen of Wands, which represents the Fire signs.

Knowing this can help you to better understand the messages in your readings when either card shows up, as it may be referring to you rather than an event or circumstance. You can usually work this out from the context of the reading as a whole.

I think the Court card is based on birthdate. (Leo)
Queen of Wands
Astrological Sign: Leo
Element: Fire

Personality:
affectionate, generous, loyal, fun-loving, dramatic, impulsive, honest, proud, egotistical

Most suitable vocations:
confidant, organiser, entertainer, actress, artist, sportswoman, anything to be number one

Most suitable lover or partner:
King of Swords or Knight of Swords– Gemini, Libra, Aquarius

My Personality Card is The Queen of Swords (Air). That's surprising.
The sign reference is missing. I don't know if that's a printing mistake?
Does anyone know what the astrological correspondence for The Queen of Swords?

Queen of Swords
Element: Air

Personality:
outspoken, direct, charismatic, blunt, instinctive, easily bored, subject to wandering

Most suitable vocations:
athlete, politician, teacher, instructor, philosopher, inventor, musician

Most suitable lover or partner:
King of Swords – Gemini, Libra, Aquarius

Don't know what to think of the Air. Love the Lover recommendations though
What cards do you all get?

1. Queen of Swords - Gemini, Libra, Aquarius
These are the air signs in astrology, as well as the same signs for the King of Swords.

3. Kineta ..
hmm . I guess so. I didn't realize. Sorry. I get her Tarot emails, and yesterday received one which instructed me to log onto the site if I wanted to keep my account active. It's free, but I know it can be a hassle to sign up.

Beyond the hassle of signing up, I just don't want any more spam in my inbox. But it looks like a fun feature.

I'm interested in how others read the court cards.

5. Queen of Swords here, both astrologically and by personality.
Swords is not a happy suit, though.

This morning just for giggles I pulled a couple of cards and got The Tower. When I asked the Universe if there was anything I could do about it, I got five or six of swords, reversed, which I guess indicates I need to hone in on a higher level of consciousness.

Whatever I'm doing is not working.

6. Well the Queen of Swords doesn't take prisoners
She takes away all pretensions and illusions, truth over ignorance, balance but no one to mess with. The smartest Queen in the deck.
Reversed:
Is also quite a strong personality but more mentally negative

She is Libra, the watery part of air and is associated with the 28th hexagram in the I Ching.
Air is all about thoughts and mental exercise and water is emotions. You don't want to make this Queen mad. :7

7. heh :D
ahem ..

While packing I found a miscellaneous deck I bought, Experimental Tarot. It's very related to astrology and the planets. I'm going to mess around with them for awhile and see what I pick up about the correspondences. Usually I'm a quick study, but this is something I pursue VERY LEISURELY. I want to know and relate to the essence, not just words.

Thanks so much for your insight into the Queen of Swords. Oh wait. That would mean then that the Personality card is the birth Moon. Libra. YIKES!

8. As a water sign, my card would presumably be the Queen of Cups. But I feel
little affinity with that card! I feel I connect better with the Queen of Swords. I've always had a "let's cut through the
bullshit" aspect of my personality.

I am not sure what to make of the lover/partner pairings for either. I am married to a Sag. I may not share this with him. :P

10. I did not register since I am not on my home computer, however...
Drat! We were gone all weekend, and I am just getting caught up here at DU! I am looking forward to seeing this, ut I have to say that I was taught that the significator changes in each reading and whatever card comes up in the reading carries a message about the querants role in the matter at hand. For instance, if a two of coins comes up as the significator, it carries a message that maybe this person is seeking a balance of some sort (or however YOU read that particular card--for me it is "the juggler" and that's how I often read it...) Similarly, a Tower coming up there indicates a person feeling beseiged...

I have read with a chosen significator that is a court card, but when I do that, I have the quearant choose whatever court card "feels" best to them. I lay them all out and have them decide at the time. Since I am not an accomplished astro person it would never have occurred to me to try and line up birth info with a significator, however it does make sense to me.
