OMG! Scott McClellan is Aquarius!
Edited on Sat May-31-08 02:14 AM by votesomemore
Scott McClellan (2/14/1968) was born with the Sun conjunct Mercury in Aquarius, the sign of the radical - the revolutionary. The seeker of justice who desires a change of the status quo. McClellan talks about wanting in the early years to be a part of the change that Bush said he would bring to the White House and admired the bipartisanship that Bush brought to Texas. These are classic Aquarian values: idealistic and willing to sacrifice one's personal needs for the greater good of mankind.

McClellan's chart shows Jupiter and possibly the Moon in Virgo. Virgo is the sign of work and duty, and Jupiter in the chart shows where we find meaning in life, what makes us feel good, and in Virgo there is a powerful need to be useful - to be helpful and to serve others. Clearly this was a powerful influence in McClellan's life and exemplified his role as loyal soldier for the Bush administration.

However, like everyone born in the mid to late 1960s, Uranus (revolution and radical change) and Pluto (death and rebirth) were conjunct in his chart. If you remember the 1960s, it was a tremendous time of cultural change and those born during this time carry that archetype within them. They typically find themselves in situations where they are forced to end a phase of their life that no longer serves them (Pluto) and begin a new life that is completely new (Uranus). In McClellan's chart these two powerful planets form an opposition to his Mars, which as the planet of war represents his drives and desires. This shows that his ability to defend himself and assert his needs (Mars) is under stress and that he has a great deal of difficulty in these areas.

For McClellan, Mars is in Pisces where it tends to lose its aggressive nature and instead submerges in the will of the masses. Pisces, a sign of the water element, blurs boundaries and erodes defenses just as the ocean does. This is an individual that tends to lose himself in causes and has difficulty defending himself and we see this echoed in the challenging aspect (square) of Neptune in his chart (the ruler of Pisces) to McClellan's Sun, an aspect that tends to dissolve one's sense of one's Self and can indicate an individual who tends toward martyrdom and can therefore be used as a scapegoat.

Over the past few years McClellan has been going through a series of powerful planetary cycles. Beginning in 2005, transiting Pluto began to form a square to Uranus and Pluto in McClellan's chart. The square to Pluto is an intense time that occurs in everyone's life in their late 30s or early 40s that challenges us to let go of situations, people or events that are holding us back. Often there are power struggles, intense emotions, family conflicts or other situations that force us to make changes in our lives that will serve to empower us. When combined with a square to Uranus, life becomes more explosive and the need for change much more urgent. This major cycle continued into 2007.

In 2006 transiting Pluto began a series of harmonious aspects to McClellan's Sun and progressed Mars, helping to facilitate the transformation within him that was already underway. The transit to progressed Mars would have given him the courage to begin to stand up for himself in a more assertive way and begin making changes in his life. When he resigned in April of 2006, transiting Mars was in challenging aspect to Mars in his chart and the Uranus/Pluto conjunction that opposes it, providing the energy (Mars) McClellan needed to begin making real changes in his life.

At the end of 2006, after his resignation, transiting Saturn began a square to his Sun and Neptune and McClellan likely began feeling a letdown after the excitement of the big life change that had just occurred. Saturn transits cause us to feel heavy and somewhat depressed, and it is during this time that McClellan began writing his book.

Currently, transiting Uranus is just beginning a major cycle that will further facilitate the changes in his life. Uranus is the radical revolutionary, and McClellan seems to be operating much more independently now than ever in his life. From now until the spring of 2010 his life will continue to change in ways he cannot now imagine. But more importantly, his radical and revolutionary act is likely to have repercussions in the American political system for years to come.

1. He is sincere.
Like many, I had questions about his sincerity or purpose in writing the book. His sincerity also came up in connection with his apology to Richard Clarke when he ran into him.
I'm glad to hear that Scotty is evolving and not fighting the path he was born to lead.
Perhaps we should protect him with white light.

10. He certainly was a terrible liar
Stammering and sputtering and flailing for words and justifications as he defended this administration's crimes. Gods, the beatings he took when he was at the podium as spokesliar...it was painful to watch.

proceeds from his book to those the admin left forsaken, perhaps then we will know his motives are not self-serving. When there are no more profits to be made we will see truth & an end to the war, until then it's just all profiteering & it comes in many forms.

Does it occur to anyone that Scottie sees the long arm of justice knocking at his door? He's in CYA mode & is using MSM to his advantage - guess his "training" comes in handy.

The next admin is going to be so busy prosecuting the war criminals and the corruption there will be little time left for much else. Sorry to have such a dismal view, but that's how I see it for now. I wish it were otherwise. The guilty have already bought land in other countries & don't much care how they leave the USA.

3. Very interesting. As an astrology student, I always enjoy articles...
like this that allow me to see how certain astrological things affect a person's life.

Thanks, vsm!

5. WOW Neptune did a retrograde station smack on his Sun last Tuesday !!!
Edited on Sat May-31-08 10:13 AM by stellanoir
Amongst many other things, Neptune rules deception and possible redemption.

Given that transiting Saturn went over his Moon and Jupiter presumably when he was writing the book, I think he really did need to come clean and own responsibility for his role in this mess.

Will Pitt posted last week that Scott comes from three generations of people involved in the academic law profession so the Saturn transit more than likely stirred up aspects of his heritage.

I'm surprising myself by feeling a lot more compassion for him knowing his planetary placements and have been saying for a long time to look to that epi generation born '66-'68 to be enormous agents of change, and real movers and shakers since both their Saturn & Uranus oppositions are looming LARGE over the next couple years.

I've always thought there had to be at least one person involved in this misadministration to sprout a conscience but he seemed to be one of the least likely.

It's really quite stunning.

Thanks for posting this votes.

6. I am especially intriqued
by those born in that generation too. One of my sisters was born in 1966.
Thanks for your contribution!

I think he is sincere also. We are reading on other parts of DU that he is a Trojan, which needs to be weighed. But, so far this is my favorite scandal so far. That's partly because he has actually made MSM question itself! Wonder what his communication planet scope looks like?

Did you know that Scott's mother ran for Texas Governor in 2006?

Carole Keeton Strayhorn (born September 13, 1939) is the former Texas state comptroller of public accounts, a position that now includes most of the duties of the former state treasurer, a position abolished by Texas voters in 1996.

Elected to the comptroller's post in 1998 as a Republican, Strayhorn ran as an independent candidate for Texas governor against GOP incumbent James Richard "Rick" Perry in 2006. She lost the November general election to Perry and placed third in a five-way race, with 18 percent.

Strayhorn is notable for several "firsts" in Austin and Texas politics. She is the first woman elected as mayor of Austin and the first Austin mayor elected to three consecutive terms. She was the first woman elected to the Texas Railroad Commission and the first woman elected as comptroller. She also was the first woman to serve as president of the Austin school board and as president of the Austin Community College board.

7. He's got Mercury in late Aquarius in a tight square to Neptune in Scorpio
which can create some issues with "truth-y-ness" for sure. Transiting Saturn opposed and squared those planets respectively last August which was probably quite sobering and revelatory for him.

Since it's your favorite scandal you might appreciate this insightful review of his book.

8. Thanks!
I will read that with interest. I notice now, too, the book is search-able on amazon. It wasn't when I looked before. Yep, I am rather smitten with this one.

I also found this >

Now the amazing thing about McClellan’s natal Neptune, planet of deception (including self-deception), lies, fraud, illusions, subterfuge, idealism, and the masses, is that it aspects Every Planet in his natal chart (born Feb 14, 1968, Austin, TX); here’s the list:

1. square Moon (all day even without knowing his birth time but I’m using sunrise 7:16:45 am CST);

2. square Sun 24AQ55;

3. square Mercury Rx 27AQ14;

4. sextile (60 degr) Venus 23Cap03 (in process of being triggered by Jupiter Rx);

5. trine Mars 28Pis01;

6. square Jupiter 1Vir39 Rx (tr Saturn still within orb of conj);

7. sesquisquare (135 degr) Saturn 9Ari24;

8. sextile Uranus 28Vir28 Rx;

9. sextile Pluto 22Vir13 Rx (a generational influence);

10. trine Chiron 27Pis18.

Even NN is biquintile (144 degr) natal Neptune, an aspect of talent (2 x 72 degr = 144) so you can see that McClellan’s natal Neptune is vastly emphasized and active within his psyche and his life experience.

One might say it’s a perfect situation for one who must use Neptunian things such as deception, illusion, propaganda, and photo ops within their careers.

I'm in no position to judge the content of course ;)
It does lead to more speculation about what those on DU who believe he is faking it are saying.

9. I think he has evolved during his book tour
I just saw his interview on Olbermann's show last night. I think McClellan is becoming more sure of his voice and more damning of the * administration.
There's a link to the interview on the Political Videos group.
Now that he has accepted Conyers' invitation to testify, it'll be interesting to see whether bush tries to stop him.

...As a loquacious Saj, I've generated towards Aquarians a lot, cuz they're really good sounding boards who'll listen to me natter on without complaint :7 . And no matter what their political affiliation, they're a dichotomous mix of revolutionary ideas and traditional values. As a fixed sign, they're as stubborn as Taurus is! I was raised by an Aquarian father (who's a Repub, BTW--and only because he despises change like all good Aquarians). I also had a great buddy, born Feb 13, who volunteered her VW squareback as the car we drove across the country in 77 to see Led Zeppelin in New York. I considered her very progressive, but she was the first one of us to get married, buy a house, and raise 3 kids. She's still married to her first husband (also an Aquarian--neither of them are goin' anywhere!)

And don't forget: Reagan was an Aquarian--one who believed in Astrology, so he must have found a lot of traits he could apply to himself.

And as for Scottie: I'm not surprised he was able to throw his old cronies under the bus. I've found Aquarians are well able to cold out anyone who is no longer on the same page, to turn away and never look back or feel remorse. Mostly because I think they look at humanity as a whole, and individuals don't matter as much as the entire species.
