Nolle's DECEMBER astro-report
The past, present, and future mingle and pull us backward, forward, or fix us in the present. We are made up of layers, cells, constellations.
-- Anais Nin

_________________________________________________

Major storm and seismic activity looks more than likely this month, what with the last and closest SuperMoon alignment of the year happening on the same day as the Moon’s north lunar declination peak. It all takes place on the 12th, but the geophysical stress window extends from the 9th through the 15th. Heavy weather with high winds and heavy precipitation, unusual tidal surges and a notable up-tick in moderate to severe earthquakes (magnitude 5+) and volcanic eruptions are bound to figure prominently in the news during this interval. While it’s apt to be a peak for the month, there are lesser geocosmic danger signals in effect from the 5th through the 7th (in connection with the northward lunar equatorial crossing), the 17th through the 19th (surrounding the southward lunar equatorial crossing), and from the 24th through the 29th (associated with the new moon on the 27th and other lunar factors).

Any SuperMoon signals a heightened potential for strong storm and seismic activity, but the full moon SuperMoon on the 12th is the Moon's closest perigee of the year, and occurs within just a couple hours of the month's peak lunar north declination. On top of that, Mars is within two degrees of exactly opposite this particular full moon, which happens to make a Grand Cross pattern when the Saturn-Uranus opposition is figured in. This looks like some pretty expensive storm, flood and/or seismic damage potential, to me – including costly disruptions and/or damages to transport and communication infrastructure.

As always, there's no place on Earth beyond the reach of one or more such natural upheavals during any SuperMoon: the alignment is planetary in scale and scope, after all. But astro-locality mapping does point out some zones that appear to be especially vulnerable, including a longitudinal risk sector from New York down through Hispaniola and on to Santiago in the New World, which emerges to cross from Siberia down through Mongolia and central China down through Indochina, Singapore and Indonesia. The especially ominous-looking horizon arc goes from Hawaii to British Columbia, across northern Canada and the southern tip of Greenland to cross the Atlantic and then swing through Iberia across the Mediterranean and diagonally from northwest to southeast Africa, and finally through New Zealand from one end to the other.

I don’t mean to be unduly alarming, but I do think this would be a good time to batten down the hatches if you’ll be in a seismically active area. Figuring in the storm factor makes it wise to stay out of harm’s way as best you can, and to have your emergency kit ready just in case. And if you must travel, at least be prepared for layovers, missed connections, weather delays and other such hazards and nuisances...cont'd

1. Oh, now THAT is so odd. I was just asking about this earlier today in here.
I have been watching the website for this for a few days and it had not gone up. Finally, today, I came in here and asked if anyone knew when he usually posts the monthly thread and it appears just a few hours later!

Thanks for sharing!

3. It's magic!
Nolle usually posts the day/evening before the 1st of the month. But it varies somewhat depending
on his personal schedule. He has some fans in this forum so I've been posting it each month (although I may miss a month or two if I'm away). Hope it was worth the wait..lol!
Sounds like it's gonna be a doozie of a month.

2. Nan Hall's December Astro-report
Now that we know something about the realities of the changes that were predicted for November, 2008, we have another interesting month. December, 2008 is the first month of this century that doesn't have any retrograde planets, a phenomena which will cause energy to move freely, and for some, too freely. In the afternoon of 12/31 Saturn turns backward, but until then we have a dynamic month. The volatile Full Moon of 1212 should be a hair raiser, but the New Moon of 12/27 should be a dream.

Mental Mercury begins the month in Sagittarius and runs into Uranus on 12/5. This is a combination for foot in mouth disease or sudden eruptions of the truth. It will be particularly strong for those with planets in Sagittarius, Virgo and Aquarius. On 12/6 Mercury gets a dose of Saturn causing reflection and for some depression as too much reality brings shock. Also on 12/5 the Sun and Mars join together in the afternoon increasing energy and impulsiveness. If this is not your preferred rhythm, prepare to slow down. If you need to get something done, this is the day to do it. On 12/12, at the Full Moon, Mercury enters Capricorn and joins Pluto for some deep thoughts about business and future success. If you need to analyze anything more thoroughly, this is a day to accomplish it. Those with planets in Capricorn, Scorpio, Virgo and Gemini will find themselves compelled to re-order their priorities somewhat, and at the very least, see life more clearly. On 12/27 at the New Moon, Mercury joins jubilant, optimistic Jupiter for a happy heart day.

Venus begins December in Capricorn, joining Jupiter on 12/1, which should be a great day for most everyone. On 12/7 Venus enters Aquarius, which entices each of us to spend time with friends and in group activities. Remember, our closest mammal relative is the chimpanzee which lives in a 50-person support community. After the year we have all survived, it is time to reconnect with loved ones who can play with us and help us make sense of life's unexpected changes. On 12/27, as the New Moon arrives, Venus joins Neptune which increases our spiritual understanding of life and can alter our values for the long term.

Mars, the cosmic energizer is blazing through Sagittarius this month, creating combustion with Uranus at the Full Moon of 12/12. This is an accident aspect, so slow down and be very careful this day. It is also not a time to spend time with those who you have conflict with, as it will be impossible to control events and feelings. This is especially true for those with planets in Sagittarius, Aries, Aquarius and Pisces. On 12/15 Mars and Saturn grapple with one another, which is another uncomfortable, pattern of struggle and possible conflict. This is a day to avoid everyone and everything that unbalances you, especially if you have planets in Capricorn, Virgo, Aries and Sagittarius. At month's end on 12/28, Mars enters Capricorn and joins Pluto on 12/28 causing the possibility of some teeth gritting moments. This is not the day to have a conversation about finances as it will yield only frustration.

On 12/31, Saturn goes retrograde in Virgo until May 17, 2009, giving all of those with planets in Virgo time to review their goals, life experiences and make plans to move forward before next May. Some of the stress on those with planets in Virgo, Pisces and Capricorn may lessen. It does usually signify the slowing down of the business cycle, so I don't expect an improvement till the second half of 2009 of current conditions.

As we all know, we are experiencing challenging times. One of the advantages of age and some knowledge of history is the understanding that everything in life is a cycle and an opportunity to learn, grown and change. During the years Pluto was in Sagittarius (November 1995-November 2008), we experienced a huge increase in the value of everything and rising optimism and behavior reflecting that attitude. We came out of the Great Depression the last time Pluto was in a fire sign (Leo) from 8/1938 to 6/1958 and the Post WWII boom was partially due to that influence. Now that Pluto is in Capricorn, frugality and return to reasonable, practical expectations is necessary. This will surely reduce consumerism and get the government more involved in business. If you are interested in more clarity about your individual cycles and making plans with the benefit of astrology, or if you need tools to transition in this interesting time, I will be in the office through December 23. If you want to give a gift certificate to a friend, relative, loved one, or yourself, please contact my office at 713/520-1551 and we can mail it to you or you can pick it up.

Have a great energy moving December.

4. Dangerous Days (by Nancy at Starlight News)

A period of roughly two weeks of very agitating and potentially very dangerous planetary configurations has already begun to unfold, initiated by the terrorist barrage in Mumbai, India, late on November 25 and early on November 26, that killed at least 78, has wounded more than 200, and, as of this writing, includes an ongoing hostage situation. The first phase of this treacherous half-month is due to the Sun and Mars moving into a several day conjunction, culminating during the time they will be within a degree and waxing between 9 and 14 Sagittarius, from December 1 through December 5. This very aggressive combination is being activated by Mercury on Thursday and Friday (11/27 – 11/28) at 7 to 9 Sagittarius. The Moon will further trigger this hazardous combination during the entire afternoon of November 27, Thanksgiving Day, until about 6 PM. At the very least, this suggests an increase in accidents and irritability during a time of heavy traffic.

Mercury will be tightly conjunct Mars for much of the following day (Friday, 11/28), while the Moon will move to square Uranus around midday EST, another potential trigger for sudden and upsetting events during another time of increased transportation congestion.

The combination of the Sun and Mars, both very fiery in nature, indicates an upsurge of violence, accidents, fires, and anger flaring up in many locations around the globe through December 5. It should be noted that the fixed star Antares, the most potent star in the constellation of Scorpio, is presently at 9Sagittarius46 (in 2000), and will be crossed by the Sun and Mars in close succession (11/29 through 12/1). Antares is known to be one of the most violent and dangerous stars in the sky.

The exact Sun/Mars conjunction falls at 14Sagittarius09 on December 5, with the transiting Moon in exact square during the afternoon of that day, again suggesting a time of heightened violence, accidents, and general agitation, and a particularly dangerous time in any war zone. For those who can handle the energy, it can be a time of increased productivity and activity, but tempers will be short and care should be taken.

Following the Sun/Mars conjunction by a few days, first the Sun and then Mars will square transiting Uranus (18Pisces48), from December 8 through December 12. As I have written repeatedly, this activation of Uranus is particularly problematic for the US due to its activation of the Uranus square to the Spring Equinox Ascendant (19Sagittarius16)...cont'd

5. Camelot or Armageddon? ( Raymond Merriman)
Edited on Sun Nov-30-08 08:51 PM by Dover
Excerpt -

On November 27, Pluto—the planet of power, death, taxes, and transformation—re-entered Capricorn, the sign of the Establishment, tradition, and government. Under this 15-year reign, we can anticipate many governments and many government leaders being the object of hatred and secretive efforts to overthrow them. Governments’ reactions to combat them will be just as heavy in response, and once again freedoms and liberties will be at risk. “Big Brother” will be watching more and more closely in an effort to find and punish the terrorists.

On the same day, November 27, Uranus went stationary direct. And change of positions highlight the principles of that planet. Uranus represents shock and sudden events. It is one of the planets correlating with terrorism, especially when Pluto and/or Mars are highlighted at the same time. All three are highlighted now, because on December 5 (next Friday) the Sun and Mars come together in a conjunction in the volatile sign of Sagittarius. In a study I conducted several years ago, I demonstrated that the Sun-Mars conjunction was the most consistent of all to 10% or greater moves in the Dow Jones Industrial Average than any other planetary pair signature, within an orb of 8 degrees. Once upon a time, 10% was considered a major move. But, as you saw last week, 10% is not so major any more. We are getting 10% moves every week now, so in this case, we may be looking at a 20% reversal developing. That is, within two weeks of the Sun-Mars conjunction, look for a 20% move to end and a 20% opposite move to begin.

The real test to the strength of this new bullish-looking market will come around December 10-15. That is when both the Sun and Mars will “translate” by square aspect the long-term Saturn-Uranus opposition. As noted before, every time such a translation has occurred in the past year, the stock indices of the world have undergone a very sharp decline. But it is not just in the stock market that we need to be alert for sudden changes and events, for this time this combination is taking place amidst new and bold terrorist activity. To say that this is a dangerous period is an understatement. It has a violent potential, and such violence can be activated in stock markets around the worlds too in the form of a sudden collapse. Can prices fall back below the lows of the last two months? If so, it can quickly turn into panic and hysteria to a degree that exceeds even that leading into November 21. If those lows can hold, however, we may be embarking upon a multi-month rally for after all, the world wants to have hope and it wants to believe things will improve. It wants to believe in the charisma and message of Barack Obama, to be specific. Jupiter is coming up to conjunct Uranus in Pisces, and both from a positive mutual reception with Uranus in Pisces, for the middle of 2009.

There is danger in the world as we head into the holiday season. But there is also hope and the belief of the masses that something magical is happening or can happen. Astrologically, the heavy Saturn aspects are usually considered stronger than the Jupiter-Neptune ones. But Jupiter with Neptune is spiritual force. It will be interesting to see which wins out in the market place: the heaviness and danger of the Saturn-Uranus related aspects or the power of spiritual belief and positive thinking signified by Jupiter and Neptune. Is Barack Obama really THE one, or is he just THAT one? Is this Camelot or Armageddon? We should know the answer sometime by the end of 2009. We are living in a time of heroes and mad men. For now, we can all try to enjoy the magic, but also try to avoid the danger. The markets will reflect which forces are winning.

Read whole article here > http://www.stariq.com/MarketWeek.HTM

My feelings -
'Spiritual force' does not automatically suggest a positive market. A euphoric response would
suggests to me an attempt to hold onto and maintain an illusion out of fear...which is always
a trap of Jupiter/Neptune transits.

We can replace hope and fear with trust.

A heightened and truer spiritual response might embrace rather than fear a collapse,
and begin to move us toward acceptance of the shift in our values away from materialism/consumerism.
In that case, a collapse would be a necessary step, a death of the old paradigm in preparation for a new reality.

7. Hi Dream! You are most welcome.
Sounds like the consensus is indisputable...a very bumpy ride.

You, Rick, Stella and others who will be experiencing the Pluto/Capricorn transit so intimately will be on the frontlines of this transformative journey. As I said to Rick, he will be uniquely qualified to report to us from the belly of the beast.

Go Goats!

8. I want to make friends with Pluto.
As you know that's not really natural for a Capricorn. Hopefully, my Scorpio energy will help though.

I have a 4-planet stellium in Capricorn, so you are certainly correct; I'll definitely be in the belly of the beast. (I really had to stop myself from using the scared emoticon here.) I think that it's probably better that I don't think too much about it, just take one step at a time, and try not to hold on too tightly to anything... That's my plan.

9.  I would imagine you've become adept at blending those two energies -
Pluto through Scorpio with your Cap energies. Your plan sounds like a good one.

I have an older friend who has a Cancer stellium which Pluto has already begun to oppose.
One of her issues is the contemplation of retirement at a time when the economy is so shakey
and her retirement savings are in jeopardy. Retirement also brings up a number of issues
for her that is causing some deep soul searching about who she is beyond her job description,
etc. And to further complicate things, her business is falling on hard times, so the wolf at the door may ultimately become the catalyst for change regardless. Retirement may not be an option afterall and she might find herself looking for a new job instead.
As Pluto opposed Saturn last January (when Pluto first entered Capricorn) she underwent a root canal and had an old bone injury crop up again. A lot of anger is coming up too, and her ex-husband whom she is no longer connected to except through their son, is quite ill. She knows and feels she's hanging on for dear life and must let go, but is not quite sure how to do it when every survival instinct in her rejects that notion, terrified of the consequences.

11. Considering all the foreboding predictions surrounding the Dec. 12th Full Moon and
the various 'dangerous' looking
planetary aspects in effect at
midmonth, I find it kind of
humorous (and perhaps precient
in its timing) that the remake
of the movie, The Day The Earth
Stood Still
will be rolled out
on that date. Makes me think "hmmmm..".
http://www.traileraddict.com/trailer/day-the-earth-stood-still/extended-clip

_____________________________________

Another mid-month event is the annual Geminids meteor shower
The Geminids meteor shower is caused by an object named 3200 Phaethon, which is thought to be an extinct comet. The meteors from this shower can be seen in mid-December and usually peak around 12-14 of the month. The Geminid shower is thought to be intensifying every year and recent showers have seen 120-160 meteors per hour under optimal conditions. The Geminids were first observed only 150 years ago, much more recently than other showers such as the Perseids and Leonids.

12. Huge tidal waves smash into PNG
Wednesday, 10 December 2008

More than 400 people have been made homeless by huge tidal waves which hit the northern coastal region of Papua New Guinea, reports say.

The waves smashed into dozens of villages and towns on Tuesday, local newspapers said.

Homes were destroyed and a number of businesses and a hospital were flooded.

No casualties have been reported so far, but officials said communication with some of PNG's outlying islands remained difficult...>
