[I Have A Dream]

May all who visit this forum be blessed with love, prosperity, good health, happiness, and time to do those things that they love to do.

Thank you so much to Delphinus for concerning herself with the December prayer thread even though so much was going on in her life.

The following is one of my favorite poems. I think that it contains amazing wisdom, so I thought that I'd open our first prayer thread for 2009 with it.





Go placidly amid the noise and the haste,
and remember what peace there may be in silence.

As far as possible, without surrender,
be on good terms with all persons.
Speak your truth quietly and clearly;
and listen to others,
even to the dull and the ignorant;
they too have their story.
Avoid loud and aggressive persons;
they are vexatious to the spirit.

If you compare yourself with others,
you may become vain or bitter,
for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.
Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans.
Keep interested in your own career, however humble;
it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.

was beaten so severely by his dad that he may have brain damage. I wasn't sure if my energy was strong enough, but after reading "...You are a child of the universe

I know that this is what I want the baby to know and feel during his struggle to heal.

He has had a very hard year, being diagnosed with a disease and losing his job, among some other stressful things. They have a young son. Last night the gas company turned off their heat; and he had paid the bill he thought he owed. Situation is resolved today, but they need a hug!!

I had upper left chest pain last night (Tuesday night) for about two hours and it went away.
I was afraid I would have to go to the ER.
I had never had this pain before.

9. throat chakra, neck and shoulders

My neck is acting up again having had a few cases of whiplash in this life & once the neck is achy my shoulders tense up pulling more on the neck. WAs really looking foward to a session with the body/energyworker I go to this week but guess why she had to call it off for - laryngitis! AT least I do not have that! I have been doing Reiki, toning, wearing my magnetic necklace, *gentle* stretching but this thing won't go away.

I have a request for better housing vibes. The need is not acute but I don't want ot wait until the acute day comes to get the vibes moving. I live with my widowed Mother who owns the house and we really need a different place for many reasons. We plan to continue to live together although I am aiming for a place with an in-law apartment on it so I can have more privacy plus a nice room suitable for me to have my dreamed of Reiki practice. I want to make people feel good for a living plus indulge my introvert tendencies by working at home while doing it :D To get this plus the things my Mom wants too it would be best to continue to pool our resources. Mom thinks all we will manage to find even continuing to pool our resources is a tiny cracker box of a place. I don't know how likely it will be but like I said I want and need something just a wee little bit bigger and I worry about jixing the thing with one half of the team in scarcity/worry wart mode. So actually this a two part request one for the house that suits us best and to help my Mom, as much as she is willing to accept, be open at least to the possability of a really spiffy place not the wreck she fears and expects.

that I can to those mentioned in this thread. I do it out of thankfulness for coming through a recent ordeal. I just survived a nasty e. coli poisoning. I am thankful that I still have my kidneys and that my health is returning.

I am thankful for the friends and family members who prayed for me and who pitched in to keep my household going. They helped my husband and my pets.

Some things no longer seem important to me. Of course I will still fight to give my family and my Democratic committee all the unity and strength they need. But I have learned that there are a good many things that are not about ME.

I still feel tired and ill sometimes. Sometimes I am still frightened, too, because the doctors are continuing to monitor my weakened immune system. Please send vibes my way, because I think God and the universe must still want me around for awhile. If nothing else, I can give back to those who have supported me.

65. A request for job & economic justice

a friend worries about being downsized as with the last round after saying they were going to get rid of dead weight (example: excessive numbers of managers/supervisors) they ended up keeping several and instead let go of workers. They also didn't let go or at least ever talk to those who spend more time on personal business than the business they were hired to do. And so I ask for this person's sake and for those in similar precarious job situations, as it serves the highest good of all concerned, that the goofoffs and out and out wrong doers shape up or be shipped out, that real workers be kept on and the true excess workers be moved to a real work position or let go, that good workers get the credit they deserve and that pay and benefits become more fair so that when pay is cut it isn't only those low on the pecking order.

69. My daughter is three months pregnant (2nd child) and has possible ovarian cancer.

She has felt ill for a year and avoided doctors, no insurance, full-time student in health field until tomorrow when she takes a medical withdrawal.

My mother was given DES, and "many pills, over twenty" in 1957/58 to help prevent miscarriage of me. She was AB-; I am O positive.

My daughter has been to hell and back in the last 16 years and has finally started to awaken and take direction of her life. She is my only child and an amazing young woman.

Thanks for any prayers/energy sent for her. :grouphug:

86. My Grandfather has pneumonia and is really weak

He has emphasemya (sp?) so between that and his already weak condition from the heart attack last fall he can't cough up the phlegm :( I can't help but wonder if he is near the end with this on top of everything else wrong with his poor body. He is in a nursing home under doctor's and nurse's care with antibiotics and medicated breathing treatments and oxygen so I can't thik if anything else can be done to help the situation :( If it is his time we don't want make him stay, just make things the least miserable possible and hope he comes back to haunt us at least once.

Our bank contacted us with an offer of a hardship forbearance to keep us from going under for 6 months. We haven't heard back from them as to the start date of the relief. If the forbearance is backdated to November 2008 we still have problems.
We are meeting with HUD on 2/24. They want to help us stay in our home.

We are trying to stay positive while we work this out.

It looks as if Jon will become eligible for medicare within the next few months. He is 58 and became disabled last Fall. It just takes time and perseverance. I'm pushing through the paperwork as quickly as possible.

Meanwhile ~ my new business adventure is now insured for $1,000,000 and ready to roll. I've sent out faxes and letters, now I'm waiting for the phone to ring, the fax to print or an email asking me to meet an oversize load needing an escort.

respond as much as I'd like due to a semi comprimised keyboard.

I used to joke about having lost freinds because of HAVA, and all I talked about for four years was EVM's. It's not exactly an intriguing issue.

Well at least now people don't look at me as though I have three heads. Public awareness has excelled.

I met the kindest person I"ve ever met through this seemingly silly effort, though I previously described it as an entire and utter excercise in futility.

Ya never really know.

Yet his mum is suffering from lung cancer. Her name is Jeanne. She requires some juice.

My dad fell on the ice twice and cracked four ribs.

I've only cracked one once. To laugh or to cough or to sneeze was excrutiating.

I can't imagine what cracking four would be like.

But it's hard to see this big brawny dude, who is a former 3 letter man, stuck in a chair.

Yikes.

Would appreciate support for both of these folks.

I try not to worry, but the party is going ahead, so far. My son and his wife, 6 months pregnant, are driving to Ohio from NC. Other grandkids are coming from Iowa, Arizona and Texas, if flights can get through. TV just showed a massive snow storm up there. I called, and the roads are icy. They may have to stop for the night.

Safe passage for EVERYONE out there and speedy and safe work to re-establish all the power outages.

I really meant for EVERYONE, and not just mine. A poor man fell over a bridge into the Trinity River bottom after an accident caused by the ice. Hundreds of thousands in this area alone were without power. Enough tragedies.

My dad is healing up slowly but not as quickly as he'd prefer (of course.)

Jeanne is doing as well as can be expected.

However, one of my surrogate adopted baby sisters is having her first baby under less than optimal circumstances (socially not physically.)

She was due on the 27th and offered to go and offer support but she lives away and has family support.

I know all too well that due dates can be way-y-y off but I just would really appreciate some gentle thoughts sent to her.

She's in a somewhat transient living circumstance.

She just got home from the hospital with a healthy baby boy and sounds more than ecstatic. :)

I had another bout with the flu since she entered the hospital. I'm now all healed up after tons of sleep and the intake of various herbal remedies.

Couldn't have possibly gotten in touch with her since shortly before I posted. So I left a message.

Her nice mum called me shortly thereafter to say that they had all just gotten home from the hospital and all was well, though there had been a slight and most assuredly fleeting complication. It only prevented him from having a water birth. He's perfectly fine and so is she.

Phew.

But I don't really concur that a birth resulting in a baby is "uneventful" LOL, but I know what you mean and appreciate the thought.

Silly.

I would have felt like a better surrogate adoptive big sister had I not been so under the weather, so I could have been there in person is all.

I gave her as much support and info as I could during the gestation.

She remarked about what amazing feminine support she had thsnkfully received through her immediete family members and the midwives during the delivery. The "sperm donor' was altogether elsewhere allegedly in efforts to create a nest egg.

Let's just hope that is so.

I'm sorry to sound suspicious, but I'm fiercely protective of her and by proxy, of her new born son.

She thanked me profusely for all the stuff I told her that she probably wouldn't have heard elsewhere.

Glad it's all worked out thus far as well.

Now just hope I can sort through and wash all Raymo's 17 year old baby clothes and give them to her and him.

131. Need Vibes for Kitty Bullies

Several of my cats were adopted as adults from a friend of my Mom who had a foster child who she caught abusing several of the kitties. Then her own child's asthma worsened to the point the doctor told them it was the cats or the kids so we took most of 'em in. Harry is the biggest and is a cowardly bully who has picked on a cat I had since he was 2 months almost from the beginning. Michael is his henchman/henchcat and double teams with Harry w/harry going one way and Michael the other to corner and trap their prey. This has gone though phases with lull with no attacks and then BOOM! Harry is back making flying tackles and not just on George. I can't stand to lock them in one little room all day so I keep trying to reintegrate them. Also when Harry is at his worst he is going at everyone not just George so locking up george for a change only protects george :(

Now things get worse - GEORGE, my sweet tender timid Georgie has now imitated Harry twice chasing Isis whaling on her until she hides and I pull him off her. & born to be a henchman Michael HELPED georgie instead of going after him for a change! I don't know what to do. I have done reiki, crystals, prayed, tried seperation diet changes, imaginging talkign with their highselves etc. some of which seem to bring about ceasefires but this is very upsetting. I am ready to try an exorcism! When I pulled George off Isis tonight he actually growled at me and gave me a warning nip. He has *never* acted like this until the first attack I caught on Isis a couple of days ago.

Anyone willing to send some healing vibes these kitties way will be greatly appreciated. I love the little brats so even Harry Potter & his Henchcat brother Michael whom is named after the ARCHANGEL for goodness sakes! argh!

I love them all so much so it is hard to see one or more abusing the other and now to the point the victim is now acting out. George is so tense all the time constantly on the lookout for the next attack even when Harry is locked up and several of the others are nearly as jumpy. If he was human I would say he had ptsd except the trauma is continuing.

think I will dig out some inscense to smudge the house today to see if that makes a difference in their behavior and then do my best to Reiki out any truama in those kitties

137. Horrible memories are re-surfacing, and I need help

I was the caretaker for my mother while she was still alive and she received poor care at a medical facility to put it mildly, and she died. My mother would call me at home and tell me they were trying to kill her. This happened many years ago and I was devastated when I lost my mother.

I have returned to school and I am taking a nursing asst course, and hopefully can gain employment.
In the class and now at home trying to do my homework; all of the horrible things that happened to my mother are rushing back and the tears begin to flow.
The chapter I am reading right now is on restraints and I get flashbacks to when the nurse had tied my mother to her bed. My mother was so distressed and I argued with the nurse, but the nurse was relentless. I even spoke with the patient advocate at the time about the mistreatment, but to no avail. Lots of things happened, but this is the chapter I am on.
Maybe this is something I am supposed to go through, but the wounds are deep and they are ripped wide open once more.
Tears are streaming down my face as I type this.

I don't even know what to ask for, but this is breaking my heart.
I need to get through these chapters by Monday, and I need to be able to keep it together during class.
