ok, this is TOO MUCH
So Jakey fell through deep snow and wrenched his hips a few weeks ago. And then about 10 days ago slipped on the ice and his back legs went east and west. His hips have made an intermittent popping noise since then, and sometimes I can feel the popping through his tail.

So we sent to the chiropracter this morning and she worked on his neck, spine, hips and knees. He appears to have injured the crucixxx ligament in both knees -- I'm sure from the fall on the ice because it was after that I thought his knees looked a little puffy. But he seemed pretty good after the visit, anyway.

So on the way home from the chiropracter we stopped at *his* favorite store to pick up grass seed, an airhorn to blast the obnoxious neighbors the next time they try blasting rock for 14 hours straight interspersed with bomb explosions and gunfire. And of course to schmooze with the staff that gives Jakey many treats.

3 minutes into the store visit, I ran over him with the shopping cart. I can't believe this. We got a little too scrunched together entering a narrow aisle. He fell down and I ran over his foot with the shopping cart.

He doesn't seem any worse for it, although I was  afterwards. But holey freakin' moley when is this pups run of crappy luck gonna end?!?

I wish I knew what his ascendant was. Maybe something to do with pluto???? Maybe the 6th house of health & coping with adversity?!?

1. Dear northernlights, I'm sending healing energies to Jakey
and asking the Universe to give him strength and balance. You must feel really bad about running over his paw with shopping cart. Here's a  for you, and give Jake an ear scritch from me. Blessings and peace to you and your pup.

2. I'm sending, as well, Northernlights.
Poor Jakey, he's certainly been through a lot. And I'm sure he knows beyond a doubt that you didn't mean to.
Sending that this series of unfortunate events will be the last he encounters in his young life, and that it does not hinder him becoming a strong adult.

5. Why not?
I'm geared up for humans, but we can just try this and see if it helps. Might as well see if a baby pic works as well. I doubt if it makes a difference when the picture was taken.

Not sure what this will do for orthopedic injuries, but maybe it will give him a general boost.

He seemed to me to have a fifth chakra blockage, so that was corrected.

Did he have trouble speaking his mind, or a weak arf or anything?

Also his kidney meridian was strengthened due to weakness. Ugh, kidney meridian issues aren't fun. Stuffy nose?

I'll recheck tomorrow.

8. no stuffy nose
no trouble speaking his mind. Big, deep chesty WOOF, that warns us of dangerous birds, planes, cyclists and walkers too close to our house. But I don't always understand what he wants or needs.

Are you sure you didn't pick up on me by accident? I'm the one with the chronically stuffy nose (allergies) and trouble speaking my mind (get into big trouble every time I dare to!)

Jakey is very independent, which is how he wrecked his hips to begin with, plus I wasn't "getting" his message. I should have simply allowed him to stay up in the driveway and front lawn during morning chores, instead of trying to keep him down in the barn area with me. So he kept squeezing under the gate, twisting his hips in the process, and really hurt himself.

It's looking more and more like the current issue is with his knees, which have been under heavy stress from taking the load off his hips.

A ligament injury should heal with time, rest and gentle exercise. If it' arthritis, then hopefully the glucosomine/chondroitin/msm/hyalonic acid blend he's back on will alleviate that...

9. no, not sure
I really barely do animals, and have next to no animal experience by distance, not to mention that I didn't have a location, etc. I just thought I would try it. It could be that another black dog named Jakey got treated, LOL.

He's really cute. I hope he feels better soon.

10. it's not like there's any shortage of black Jakes, lol
It was fun taking him to the off-leash park. A bunch of us would call our Jakes to come, and a 3 or 4 black labs and lab-crosses would come running. Each to the wrong person  I think they did it on purpose as a joke.

are very empathetic. It could be he is trying to help heal her, and in so doing is 'carrying' some of the energies, although unmanifest.
Just guessing.

12. they are
I just don't work with animals much. Not sure if I read them well by distance or not! Probably the more information I had, the better.

But, it could be that I was reading her. I have no idea. Maybe Jakey will now stop worrying about northernlights, if that is what I was getting.

14. thank you everybody
Yes, he is a real sweetie and he's grown into a noble fellow with a kind expression. He still has a baby face looking straight on.

He's doing about the same today. He gets up easier since he's been chiropracted, and he moves easier.

For the first time I got a pain response on palpation of one knee. It's low down on his right knee (the stifle join in a horse). I'm not giving him aspirin for now. I couldn't feel any swelling and it's better that he feel the soreness and protect that knee.
