Jupiter/Neptune/Chiron Conjunction In Aquarius Coming Soon
This seemed like a very thoughtful look at this rare and intriguing conjunction which is fast approaching in May. And this article particularly examines the ties this conjunction has to the generation whose natal Pluto (which resides around 24-27 degrees of Leo) will be in opposition to that conjunction.

---------

This three-part article, while containing information that may be useful for everyone, is written specifically for those who have Pluto positioned between 25 and 27 degrees of Leo in their birth charts. This includes those born between September 1954 and February 1955, between July and September 1955, and between February and August 1956.

The May 2009 Alignment of Neptune, Chiron and Jupiter

PART 1: Neptune

I’ve been thinking about the meaning of next May’s Neptune-Chiron-Jupiter alignment opposing my own natal Pluto for a several weeks now – but only recently did it occur to me that since there is a group of us who will be working those same energies, we might as a group benefit from considering what the alignment could mean.

My intention with this discussion is to share what information I can gather internally and externally that might assist us in navigating the alignment. Granted, we’re looking at energies that do not reach their peak for another 12 months – but because I feel this is alignment is an integral part of the process set to culminate in 2012, it will be helpful to be aware of what’s ahead.

We each have Pluto in a different area of our charts, and related uniquely to the various personal planets, so this discussion will not be specific as to where exactly each person’s experience is likely to play out – but we can look at some general meanings and trends that should be helpful.

My overall sense of the May 2009 alignment is that it is an amplified opportunity for spiritual healing and awareness for all of us on planet Earth – but in some way, this opportunity is particularly important for those in our group. The alignment forms exactly opposite our natal Pluto, which means there may be pressure from the outside world that pushes us into a new stage of being rather than something that occurs more organically or spontaneously. And, since this is Pluto, there is potential for this energy to move us significantly forward in the manifestation of our mission on the planet, through helping us heal and rise above the fears that have limited us to this point.

In addition to my own thoughts and insights, I will include in this discussion contributions from various astrologers whose work I value. Combining the essence of these descriptions should help us understand how the alignment may work with us.

Why May 2009?

As of this writing (May 2008), Neptune and Chiron are about 3 degrees apart in Aquarius, so are already considered conjunct. This means that in subtle ways, we are already working with two-thirds of the energies involved - but Neptune and Chiron will not begin to work in earnest with our shared Pluto until 2009.

And, although Neptune and Chiron do not form their exact conjunction until February 17, 2010, they are virtually conjunct each other when Jupiter conjoins Neptune on May 27, 2009 at 26°29' of Aquarius. With Chiron located at 26°14' of Aquarius on that day, there is very little distance between the three players. In addition, Neptune goes retrograde on May 29 and Chiron goes retrograde on May 30, which means both are stationary and very strong during that week of the Jupiter-Neptune conjunction.

All of this focuses our attention on the last week of May 2009 for the pinnacle of these energies, with associated events playing out from early Spring 2009 through late Winter 2010.

What Does It All Mean?

Neptune conjunct Chiron combines the energies of spiritual transcendence with emotional healing and ascension. Add to that the influence of Jupiter, whose job is to amplify whatever he touches. Sounds like a powerful time to me...cont'd

 Hi Dream. Thanks for the warm welcome.

I can't read enough about this upcoming conjunction. And a google of this subject reveals
that a lot of others have been contemplating it too.

3. Thanks Dover
Though i've been well aware that this conjunction was coming, it's nice to hear someone else's take on it.

I've been all distracted by a slew of mudane concerns.

They have recently resolved.

Guess it's time to get on the schtick with the next prayer effort. This time, I'll take a different approach.

Thanks for reinforcing that.

best

5. I am one of these with Pluto in Leo (at 27 degrees)
I get a sense that this period will be brutal if we don't make up our minds to go with it and be willing to have our attitude adjusted along the way. I think resistance to what we see about ourselves and the tasks that we will be given to undertake (at work or home) may be our undoing. I don't feel that loss is necessarily part of it unless we are unwilling to bend or inevitably accept our circumstances.

Also, I don't think I know what "spiritual transcendence" really means, I always thought it would be a big happy party but in reality I think it's the ability to see ourselves and others as "one" and be unwilling to react or defend anything in a negative way, or perhaps be unable to see negativity in the same light, ever again.

Whatever life brings, though we may not like it, I think we'll all we OK.

8. Yes, I would agree that the painful part of any 'death' or transformation lies in our resistance,
Edited on Sun Apr-05-09 01:14 PM by Dover
fear and unwillingness to let go of the familiar, even when we know that our current 'reality' is not
an authentic expression of our true self and soul purpose. So if we find ourselves in our 'pain bodies' we can bring our awareness to those fault lines where we are experiencing fear, attachment, resistance so we can begin to shift and release that friction.

Everyone is exactly where they are on their own path (wherever we go, there we are).
So compassion and acceptance of who and where we are, being content to move through obstructions and along our paths one step at a time, not allowing ourselves to get overwhelmed or apply pressure to be somewhere or someone else, or permitting negative thoughts, emotions or projections to take us over....staying present. When moving through an obstacle course of these elements, I'm helped by one author's description of the Tarot's 2 of Pentacles which are also the principles that form the basis for the martial arts:

In the film First Knight, Lancelot takes on a challenge - to move down a line of swinging blades crossing in front of him at random intervals. He succeeds because he is alert, agile and patient. He knows when to move and when to stay still. He glides through the dangers enjoying every moment of this deadly obstacle course. Lancelot has tapped the energy of the Two of Pentacles.

The Two of Pentacles also reminds you to be flexible. Lancelot could not have navigated the swords walking in a straight line. He had to move freely and lightly in all directions as needed. You too must be supple if you want to prevail. Don't force your way through or you will be cut down. Now is not the time to be rigid. Know that sometimes a side step, or even a back step is the surest way forward.

So, trusting our own process , our instincts, intuition, body wisdom, our hearts and our connection to the Divine....adapting, balancing and integrating the marriage of body, mind, spirit. This allows us to arrive at a new vantage point where we can see ourselves and our ego existence from a holistic and detached perspective (which, btw, is also the vantage that allows for humor born of compassion, relative to our oh-so-human condition... a true lightness of being!). Pluto will not allow us to stay in the 'small' self. And Neptune assists us in experiencing this oneness, the flow.

There is such peace in true acceptance.

With transformation there is both decrease and increase...the snake must sluff off the old skin. The I Ching provides a beautiful explanation of their meaning (hexagrams 41 and 42). I particularly like Sarah Dening's interpretations (The Everyday I Ching).

11. Thanks Dover, I can't help but "hear" the old song by the Eagles, "Take It Easy"
playing in my head after reading all of this.

Take it easy, take it easy
Don't let the sound of your own wheels
Drive you crazy
Lighten up while you still can
Don't even try to understand
Just find a place to make your stand
And take it easy...

We may lose and we may win though
We will never be here again
So open up, I'm climbin' in,
So take it easy.

but Pluto is opposite my sun, which is in Aquarius, where all this is happening. I'm already feeling some big shifts, and right now they aren't comfortable. It will be interesting to see what happens a month from now. Perhaps by them I'll have overcome the depression and the fear that lies behind it.

16. Hi Delpinus! What degree of Aquarius is your natal Chiron at?
If it's in the early degrees then you already have experienced the conjunction of these
planets with it. This particular alignment or conjunction takes place around 26 degrees of Aquarius.
The article does have some good info about the characteristics of the transiting Chiron in Aquarius too, which definitely might be interesting to read since you have it natally.

And if you were born in the mid 50's then there's a good chance your natal Pluto is also involved (which is opposite Aquarius at 26 degrees of Leo).

Edited on Mon Apr-06-09 04:03 PM by Delphinus
let's see, my Chiron is at 22 Aquarius, 13' 6" R; my Pluto is 0 Virgo 18' 54"; and my Neptune is 2 Scorpio 4' 25" R. I think those were all the planets the article talked about.

Edit to add: looks like my Neptune is Trine Chiron and Pluto has the dumbell sign with Chiron. (I don't know if that's conjunct (good) or opposition (not so good).

The freebie Astrodienst can only tell me so much - I shall read up!

18. Well it seems transiting Jupiter will be crossing over your natal Chiron
the second half of this month and transiting Chiron had its return to its natal position last month. Transiting Neptune has just finished up two years of passing back and forth over your natal Chiron. So your Chiron has been and is getting some action!

This transiting threesome will transit in opposition to your natal Pluto but not together as a conjunction. But one by one you will experience their opposition. And directly after each one opposes your natal Pluto (from their position at 0 degrees of Pisces) they will also be trining your natal Neptune when they go over 2 degrees of Pisces (whenever two or more transiting planets are in a water sign..Cancer/Scorpio/Pisces.. and reach the same degree as one of your natal planets in another water sign they form a trine as all like-elements fire, earth, air or water- do). If you don't know how to track transiting plantetary movements with an ephemeris, perhaps that might be one very helpful astrological skill to develop.

I think the dumbell (or figure 8)...lol... is an opposition (whereas the half dumbell is a conjunction). Lots of transformative healing energies in that natal configuration to develop (which you probably already have). And since they are so tightly related natally I think you would find the article's explanations of their interactive energies helpful in understanding how they operate together (even if your natal aspect configuration is slightly different). I think of oppositions as bringing in people and situations that hold a mirror up to us so we can see ourselves and our subconscious issues more clearly. Initially we project them onto the other/situation but if we can respond to these situations as opportunities for learning, then we can begin to withdraw our projections and let the mirror speak to us.

Thank you so much!

Yes, I have tapped definitely into the transformative healing energies. Changed my life.

I am reading through her articles and Chiron in the 8th house natal gives me more to think about ... and since it's relocated to the 11th house where I live now, even more!

I can see why it takes a lifetime to just begin to master astrology.

20. thanks so much for this, Dover
I read through very quickly this morning. Will do so more slowly on Thursday, when I have more time.

I have pluto at 24 degrees Leo, so I guess this will impact me more than many, although less than the 25-27 degree folks.

I do have a couple significant memories from a couple of the time periods she mentions. They are, unfortunately, very unhappy ones and involved deep wounding, rather than healing. 1969 in particular is when my parents started going away for weekends and leaving me locked out in the street. And now I am pretty much forced into selling my home in the same conjunction. 23 degrees Leo is the start of my 12th house...

Do those two events trigger a similar feeling/pain-connection for you - being put out of the house and losing your home? Each passage of 'difficult' transits and their activation of our natal 'script' offers us an opportunity to dive deep and find that pearl of healing that allows our soul to evolve. My feeling is that similar situations will continue to come up in different ways until we are finally able to understand, forgive, heal, integrate and therefore transcend it. And often the most painful and difficult things have ultimately helped to shape and strengthen us in some way that may be vital to our calling and purpose. Like any 'handicap' we're given in life, we often have compensated in ways that contributed to our unique strengths, even if initially painful. All experiences, both joyful and painful, are formative and it's up to us to come to terms with and own them. Rather than burying these bones they can be incorporated as building blocks on our soul's ascent to wholeness.

I hope this will be such a time for you, bringing healing, acceptance, empowerment and peace.

26. absolutely, they do
Also the same feeling from a recurring dream of falling off a cliff that I had as a child. My family was always at the top of the cliff, sometimes with their backs turned, sometimes watching and then turning away, and sometimes my sister shoved me off the cliff. But after the desperate panicky falling sensation, just as I was about to crash, I instead floated gently to the ground. Always in the last instant, and then I'd wake up with my heart still pounding.

After spending the last day and a half in bed, I realize it's more than just being locked out of the house. It was the sense of total abandonment and rejection by my parents back then. And now, at the same time I'm forced to sell my home, there is a big question around whether I'll be accepted or rejected in the school program, again coming up in the same time frame. There are many forces working behind the scenes against me -- from the advisor that misled me right at the start to the adminstrator who last month knocked me out of the system right when transcripts were sent for review and instructions emailed out.

What I'm finding for me is that when I'm rested, I feel hopeful about this upcoming transition/transformation. I didn't want an antique and it's half the land I paid for, so I've always had more house and less land than would work for me. And I can't stand another winter up here -- I just can't take the -15 cold and 6' of snow any more. I don't much care whether or not I get into the program, because if they don't want me, then I don't want them. I don't totally believe in western medicine anyway. I'm just tired of being in limbo. And I keep seeing my little furry and feathered family traveling cross-country in a van to a fresh start somewhere else. And recording the journey realtime in a blog.

But when I'm unable to sleep and/or end up under the weather, then I slide into worry about my animals and depression, and it seems like all too much.

Thank you, Dover and IHAD :grouphug:

21. Jupiter-Neptune-Chiron Conjunction - Recipe
Description: A giant souffle, needing careful preparation

Serves: All humanity, but can be prepared for one, or any number

Time for preparation: until the end of May 2009

More: http://www.lanawooster.co.uk/blog/?p=205

Also interesting (at least to me)

Jupiter in Aquarius - The Lighter Side of 2009
But life is about the interplay of the material and the spiritual, and Jupiter’s entry into Aquarius on Monday will go some way to offsetting the material problems by bringing a resurgence of the human spirit and understanding. Last year we saw the triple conjunction (Aquarius Convergence) of North Node, Chiron and Neptune in Aquarius, and Jupiter struggled for expression in Capricorn. This year we see the next phase of the Aquarius Convergence, with Jupiter travelling through the more liberating sign of Aquarius and touching the North Node (karmic reward), Chiron (miraculous healing) and Neptune (spiritual renaissance) as it does so. How aspects play out depends on a personal level on factors like consciousness and experience. On a collective level correspondingly, collective consciousness. The undeniable challenge of Saturn opposite Uranus this year is to be open to changes that the dismantling of outworn structures will bring. But what I am seeing is that more and more people are finding their intuition, higher selves and divine guidance and trusting that they will receive guidance as to how they can alleviate and deal with matters which should arise in the future, and what new structures to build with the new energies. Jupiter in Aquarius brings about a counterforce of light, a wave of people waking up to who they truly are and assisting a rise in overall consciousness which hopefully might make a difference. If you are planning your year ahead, it may be helpful to know that Jupiter conjoins the North Node in February, bringing results for people’s efforts at spiritual growth and planetary initiatives. Then in May/June/July Jupiter, Chiron and Neptune are conjunct which could bring very unusual circumstances, both in personal and planetary life, a potent concoction of planets which can bring forth alchemical changes. With planets retrograding and then re-meeting, more conjunctions occur in December between Chiron and Neptune, and Jupiter and Neptune, so more chances to reap the benefits of these combinations.

24. This is going to be an "interesting" time for me
Jupiter is my planetary nemesis. Yeah, I know. Not supposed to be that way. But almost without fail, transiting Jupiter makes an aspect, however beneficent, to any personal planet, and I go broke. (In contrast Saturn is almost always like Santa Claus for me, delivering all sorts of good things even with hard aspects. Go figure.)

The Jupiter/Chiron/Neptune conjunction will occur in exact opposition to my Sun (which itself is conjunct the ascendant and in a stellium with Pluto and Mars), and it completes my T-square. As a former professional astrologer I feel like I should have some solid insight into how this transit may personally impact me. But I'm not impartial when it comes to myself, and the problem of interpretation is compounded by the fact that Chiron had just barely been discovered at the time I stopped working as an astrologer-- I really don't know how to work with it. So I'm watching, curious, to see what happens.

25. Hi Oak2004
Yes, it really can be tough reading for oneself. Which is why I like to throw the I-ching or lay out some Tarot to help me understand more deeply what the process is being described by the planets.
So I'll ask the I-Ching or Tarot for clarification of astrological events.

Dreams are also very helpful and I'll pose the question before sleep. And on several occasions after asking for clarification I'll have a serendipidous situation occur that brings
some very clear answers.
