She's BACK... Kagome is with me AGAIN... my adventure Long Story
Last night and this morning we had torrential rain. It was really pouring down hard off and on again. I didn't get to sleep until 9 this morning, and I woke up at 5 this afternoon.

I do my usual routine and have my hot cup of tea and internet surfing until I get awake enough to go outside to check on our little garden. Today however, I didn't finish my tea before I decided to check on the garden. Went over to my one tub container with pepper plants and basil (from seeds) "oh boy, finally seeing some sprouts, yipee" then I head over to our raised beds of tomato plants, onions and more peppers, and more basil (again from seeds) "hey everyone how did you weather the storm" they looked pretty happy, and again a few sprouts of basil is popping up. I then head over to the biggest raised bed with more tomato plants and mustard greens (from seeds) everyone is looking really good.

That's when I heard the meows. I meowed back and went over to where it was coming from, bent down and meowed, more meows. The meows seemed to indicate pain. I couldn't see anything. The location of the meows is coming from where my property and my next door neighbors. We have a 6' wood fence that has been falling down it several places and a chain-linked fence behind it. I decided to go into my neighbors yard to see if I could find out where this cry of distress was coming from. I continued to meow along with the kitten. I couldn't see anything, so I went back to my own yard. By this time hubby comes out and I let him know Kagome has come back. He comes over to where I am and I make my way into the jungle (a lot of very small trash trees) "I see her" she hisses at me. I run into the house and grab some baby kitten chow we had when Kagome 1 got sick. I make my way back through the jungle and toss a few pieces where she can get it. Again I hear the cries of distress, but it isn't coming from Kagome. I couldn't figure where it is coming from, then I notice movement on the other side of the fence. There is another kitty stuck between the fence and neighbors little tool shed. It is sopping wet and can't seem to move and is lying on his back. Mama kitty has come looking to check up on the babies. I'm able to reach through the wooden fence and start petting Kagome on her back. I manage to grab her to pull her through and bring her inside the house so I can give her a little bit of milk. Hubby stays outside to see if he can rescue the other kitty. He has to go into the neighbors back yard and is successful in getting the kitty. He brings it inside and we find a towel to wrap it in. The kitty is still screaming in pain. I go to the bathroom to light our little gas heater. Hubby brings in the other kitty as I had already taken Kagome with me. He sits on the edge of the tub, I took a seat on the floor. We rub little baby kitty and try drying him off. He is in pain and continues screaming. I MeowOm several times and this seems to be somewhat effective, but baby is still distressed. We continue working on him drying him, feeding him and MeowOming.

Poor baby, he appears to have been drowning from being on his back and not being able to turn over. He was probably in shock as well. He couldn't hold his head up and was only able to shake it from side to side, I think this might be due to having rain filling up in his ears. His sides of his tiny rib cage is hard as a rock. I massaged them and it seems as though it helped.

I found a box lid for them and put it on the floor.

I had to take a dinner break and am heading back to check on them. Finished dinner, hubby has been doing research on feeding baby kitties. We think that perhaps they are maybe 4 weeks old.

Just got back from checking on them. They are walking around and meowing but they are the normal meows of kitties wanting something to eat (calling out for mama). We tried giving them a formula hubby found on the net but they don't seem interested. He's gone to store to buy them better formulas for them. Also I think baby boy had a bowel movement and by the looks of it it was a release of some of the milk we gave him, but of course this is only a guess as I didn't witness it. We washed him with cotton-balls dipped in warm water, as this is something we discovered will mimic mama kitty.

I'll take some pics in the next few days. Oh and my crystal pendulum indicates that it IS Kagome. :loveya:

Just wanted to share with everyone here. :grouphug:

1. Just curious, do they happen to be yellow-striped kittens?
I had the very same thing happen to me 2 yrs ago. There were 3 kittens (one did not make it) about 3 wks old in my yard, I still have them. Then this past fall, 2 more yellow-striped kittens show up. These are about 4 months old. I now have 4 yellow-striped cats! The 2 latest are feral & won't let me catch them. I had to use a live-trap last month to catch the female to have her spade. Of course now she REALLY won't let me touch her! LOL My concern is not being able to get them shots that they need. She got them when she had her "surgery", but next year, I'm not sure what will happen.

I'm not sure what yellow-striped kitties represent, but the Universe has blessed me in abundance with them! I just hope it doesn't send more!!

So I'm curious if maybe YOU are now receiving them, too!

2. Here's some pics of the last batch of my feral kitties.

New Kagome looks pretty much as the old one. Except she seems to have gotten more mama milk and her face is also fatter. The boy kitty sorta looks like Sango and sorta like Inuyasha.

I can't wait to take some pics, will try tomorrow. I don't want to use the flash so soon with them so hopefully the pics will turn out okay.

I understand about the universe sending us babies to take care of, but with Sango, Inuyasha, Kilala, and Sateeva 2 more is kinda taking it a little too far. We are thinking that maybe we can let our new boy be an outside kitty after he gets a little older and neutered.

Hopefully you can try and reestablish a relationship with your feral girl and she will trust you again. It takes a lot of work that is for sure.

3. They are beautiful!
Looks like Kagome may have some Siamese in her/him.

The feral girl (Penny) has always been very shy & skiddish. I can only touch the 2 new ones when they are ravenously eating & don't realize I'm petting them. As soon as they realize it, though, they run away, but come right back. They are not at all afraid of us, just won't let us touch them.

The odd thing about getting the first "batch" of yeller kitties, was they came the day after our last dog died. We were sort of relieved that we would be out of the pet business for a while, but the Universe would not have it! In a related story, about 10 days before our dog died, a Great Pyrenees showed up at our house. We had seen her in the neighborhood months before, but never near our house. She showed up a couple of days after we found out our dog had cancer & my husband fell in love with her. When our dog did die, he had her there to love on. I called her Angel because I firmly believe she was sent here to ease my husband through our dog's death. She is also white with flowing fur; it just seemed to fit her. That was 2 years ago. The next day the yeller kitties showed up. Maybe to help me ease through the death, I don't know. I do know that I was so busy trying to care for these kittens that I didn't have time to dwell as much on the dog's death.
The Universe IS amazing!

4. You might try this tactic
Sango didn't let me pet her with they first started eating the Meow Mix. Inuyasha and Kagome didn't have a problem with me touching them or picking them up, however, Sango would run away. I would sit on the deck and start feeding her by holding the food in my hand, she would get close enough and grab the food and then run off. I would continue to do this everyday a couple times a day.

Then she would get close enough I started grabbing her and placing her on my lap while she ate out of a dish. While she was on my lap I would pet her and telling her that someday she will come to love my hands and the pets that come with them. She apparently worked extremely well as now she loves my hands and the pets that come with it.

They also got to where they would give me nose nibbles. I would sit on the deck and they would climb up in my lap and nibble on my nose. They still love giving me nibbles before I feed them. They are very affectionate and very loving. They follow me around the house wherever I go and sleep with me. Sometimes they fight each other over who sleeps the closest to my head. Luckily they don't fight very hard. They also love to tuck me in with their kneeding the blanket.

Let me know if you try my technique and if it helps.

9. Thanks. I will try this. Usually I'm in such a hurry w/my busy life,
that I do good to sling food in the dish for them twice a day. But when summer arrives, I'll be able to try this.

Thanks again. :hi:

6. Oh I am so glad
First that Kagome is back, and second that you were able to rescue both kittens.

8. Update: I have been busy taking care of babies
Hubby made them some special formula, however, little babies don't care too much for it. So, I went out today and bought some baby food, lamb, chicken, and turkey. They seem to really like it.

Been giving them baths and watching them sleep. They are so cute and adorable.

We named the little boy Kohaku. In the Inuyasha Anime series, Kohaku is Sango's brother who unknowingly slays his family of Demon Slayers. He was possessed by the series evil villain Naraku.

So we now have 5 kitties named for the Inuyasha series.

Quick summary:

Kagome is a teenage girl living in the modern area Japan. She falls down a well while looking for her cat, and ends up in feudal Japan, being chased by a demon (The demon is after the Sacred Jewel Kagome has in her possession). She discovers Inuyasha sealed to a tree with arrows. Inuyasha is a half demon (part dog-like and human) Kagome eventually unseals Inuyasha, after he promises to help her escape the demon chasing her. The Sacred Jewel gets broken into tiny fragments and the search is on to make the Jewel whole again.

The Sacred Jewel has the power of good or evil. If a demon possesses it (such as Inuyasha, he could become a full fledged demon) they will absorbed the power of the Jewel and hence become more powerful.

Sango is a demon slayer, she is human girl they meet along the way. Kohaku is Sango's little brother and unknowingly slays his family of demon slayers on his first mission. Then becomes the pawn of the evil villain Naraku.

Kagome has the ability to travel back and forth through time via the well.

Anyway probably more info than you wanted, but it is a great story of love, companionship, trust, compassion, mystical powers, and very funny with scary episodes mixed in. The cast of characters are some of the funniest I've ever seen. It is one of my favorite Japanese animation series.

Cartoon Network airs it in the wee morning hours, but one must catch it from the beginning for it to make any sense, as it is a 7 year series.
