2. Yeah, I knew a couple people who did that.

read tarot over the phone for those charge by the minute companies. They were actually quite sincere, which surprised me that they would take that sort of job.

do yu have a connection to an employer? I may consider it for some x-tra moolah..

whatever insight I can give could help lost souls at this time on the planet....

4. I did it for a short while a few years ago

It broke my heart. There was so much pain out there, and we were charging these poor lost souls $4.99 per minute just so they'd have someone tell them it's going to be okay. I lasted about 2 weeks, and had to stop. (Empaths don't do well as phone psychics -- at least this empath didn't.)

In truth, I believe it set me back quite a bit in my intuitive evolution. I completely shut down to all of it for about 3 or 4 years, and am just in the past year or so coming back into that part of myself.

This is only one person's experience, for what it's worth. Just wanted to tell you how it affected me.

Kookaburra, I wanted to hear about any downside to that type of work.

After January 1 our income has dropped by 1/3. I sent out the thought, wondering how we were going to make that up. Three days later a friend wrote me about this employer. She was hired by them and had thought of me and another friend.

After doing test readings for them, I've been hired.

The focus on this service is to give them as much info as possible in as short a time as possible. The company is ethical. I told them also that I did not want to work for someone that was just telling people what they wanted to hear rather than an honest reading.


We'll see how it goes. I worked a crisis line for three years so I've heard lots of tragic stories. I stayed with that because I felt what I was doing was helpful. I expect this to be helpful too, otherwise I wouldn't be doing it.

I will echo the comment about all the pain that is floating out there. In some ways, I'd think it would be a bit easier to cope with if you were doing readings over the phone because you at least have some physical distance on it. I dunno, however, because whatever "protection" you gained with the physical distancing would probably be offset by the sheer volume of calls...

It felt (to me, anyhow) like it just took too much energy to read for that many people while sitting there surrounded by that much need for that long of a time.

Something else that I would bring up to you if you are thinking about phone work, is how will you feel if you are with people who are just (forgive the expression!) "phoning it in" rather than doing actual readings? Personally, I have a pretty low threshold for the fakes and the con artists, and I am not sure how well I'd do in any kind of boiler room setting. YMMV.
