Another small blow for rationality. Even if it was by default!

The best use for astrologers I ever saw was in something I read about ancient Babylon.

Every night, in the cool of the evening, the king of Babylon would walk the high city wall with his personal astrologer, getting the Bronze Age equivalent of Fox News.

If the king didn't like what he heard, he would summon guards and have the astrologer thrown over the wall to his death.

This not only improved the rationality level in the ancient world, but might have performed useful service in early studies about gravity.
