Raids netted weapons caches and suspected insurgents in the Baghdad area and northern Iraq in the past several days, U.S. military officials said.

The 3rd Battalion, 4th Brigade, 2nd Iraqi Army Division discovered five mortar systems, 300 mortar rounds, 500 pounds of dynamite, 50 remote-control devices, 26 Katusha rockets, 25 anti-personnel mines, 600 mortar charges and ammunition, wires, and office company equipment in Kussyat near Tikrit.

The raid, conducted last Thursday, was driven by information from captured insurgents, officials said.

The same day, Company D, 2nd Battalion, 4th Infantry Regiment, 10th Mountain Division, attached to Task Force Dragon, found a munitions cache in the Dora neighborhood of Baghdad.

An 80 mm white phosphorus mortar round, a 57 mm rocket, 150 pounds of homemade explosives, 43 hand grenades, and a 57 mm homemade rocket launcher attached to two cell phones and a 60 mm mortar were found and destroyed.
