RAF LAKENHEATH, England — A 48th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron airman possessed child pornography and paid a fee to gain access to an illegal Web site of exploited children carrying out sexual acts, according to testimony Thursday.
Senior Airman Jeremy S. Parrott was nabbed in a 2005 sting operation by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, which discovered his computer had logged onto an illegal Web site. The content of the site is “100 percent hard-core child pornography” and featured kids identified by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, Special Agent Michael Riccitelli testified in the Article 32 hearing.
Parrott also is accused of using the file-sharing network, Limewire, to download 50 to 75 questionable files, some tagged as containing very young children in sexual acts, according to testimony.
After being alerted of his activities, the Air Force Office of Special Investigations questioned Parrott and then searched his Lakenheath dorm room, seizing his desktop and laptop computers, CDs, DVDs and video game consoles.
Investigators began a large-scale child porn investigation dubbed Operation Emissary following a May 2005 arrest of a target. Findings from the target’s computer uncovered ways to locate the illegal site. Those who subscribed to the site were billed for a $79.99 payment under the pseudonym “adsoft,” Riccitelli testified.
