HRC pushes for e-filing evals by April 1

The Human Resources Command issued a directive Friday mandating that most officer and noncommissioned officer evaluation reports be filed electronically beginning April 1.

The new requirement applies to all active and reserve reports, except those prepared on National Guard NCOs, which will continue to be submitted to state and territorial record centers.

The Army also will allow deployed units to use alternative methods, such as e-mail and NCO-ER uploads, if they cannot use the “send to DA” function of the preferred system.

The HRC directive was issued Friday as MilPer Message 08-051.

It is the latest step in a phased program to field an entirely paperless evaluation system, according to Lt. Col. Chelsea Ortiz, OER policy and processing officer in the evaluations systems office of HRC.
