NORFOLK, Va. — A Hawkeye made an emergency landing on one engine at Chambers Field here Wednesday, coming down short of the runway, according to information released by Naval Air Force, Atlantic.

The E-2C radar warning and air control aircraft made the emergency landing at about 6 p.m on the airfield at Naval Station Norfolk. Its nose gear collapsed in the incident, but no crew members were injured in the aircraft or on the ground.

An investigation will be initiated, according to AirLant spokesman Mike Maus.

The aircraft belonged to Carrier Airborne Early Warning Squadron 125, known as the “Tigertails.”
