Ex-major gets 6 years in attempted kidnap

MINNEAPOLIS — A former Army major who tried to kidnap his former girlfriend at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport was sentenced Wednesday to six years in prison.

Timothy Pentaleri, 43, of Belleville, Ill., pleaded guilty to attempted kidnapping in December.

Authorities say Pentaleri wore a fake wig, mustache and goatee while watching passengers at the airport June 29. He was carrying a stun gun, and officers also found duct tape and condoms in his car, along with a notebook outlining his plan.

The woman told police the two had once had a relationship while working in Pakistan.
