A soldier with 18th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion, 16th Sustainment Brigade, was killed during a training exercise in Germany.

Pfc. Seth Miller, 27, an ammunition specialist assigned to the 23rd Ordnance Company, died Monday at the Joint Multinational Training Command in the Grafenwoehr Training Area.

According to an Army news release, Miller was pinned between two palletized loading system trucks at about 5 p.m. on Monday after company-level training at Range 204 in the Grafenwoehr Training Area.

He was taken to the Vilseck Troop Medical Clinic for initial treatment and then evacuated by air to the Amberg Klinikum 10 miles south in Amberg, where he was pronounced dead at 6:40 p.m., the release said.

At a memorial ceremony planned for Monday at the Tower Theater on Grafenwoehr, Miller, who joined the Army a year ago, will be posthumously promoted to specialist and awarded the Army Commendation Medal.
