BISMARCK, N.D. — Sen. Kent Conrad wants the Minot Air Force Base considered as a location for the cyber command.

The Air Force says the cyber command will protect the military and federal government from cyber-based security.

Conrad says he has written Air Force Secretary Michael Wynne, asking that the Minot base be part of the program.

The Air Force is slated to announce the command’s home in September 2009. Conrad says the Air Force wants the program spread across several bases.
