Darmstadt clinic cuts services for some
Darmstadt clinic cuts services for some
Stars and Stripes
European edition, Monday, April 21, 2008

The Darmstadt health clinic no longer provides appointments or telephone consultations to retirees, retiree family members or civilian pay patients, according to Europe Region Medical Command.

“Current limitations allow access only for Active Duty and their Family Members until the clinic’s closure on July 15,” Phillip Tegtmeier, a Heidelberg Medical Department Activity spokesman, wrote in an e-mail.

The unanticipated deployment of a military doctor has left the clinic unable to do more than that, according to a message sent to the community’s retiree council.

Retirees and their family members will have one more opportunity to get health care in Darmstadt before the Army transfers them to Wiesbaden.

“Darmstadt will still offer a multitude of services on a walk-in basis during its annual Retiree Health Fair on May 8 from 8 a.m. until noon,” Tegtmeier wrote.
