Soldier killed in western Anbar clash

BAGHDAD — An American soldier was killed Tuesday in a clash during a combat patrol in western Anbar province in Iraq, the U.S. military said Wednesday.

The announcement raises the number of the U.S. military losses in Iraq to at least 4,073 since the Iraq war started in March 2003, according to an Associated Press count.
