Airman sentenced to confinement in court-martial for 2007 break-in

RAF MILDENHALL, England — Airman 1st Class Jeffrey Dalton was sentenced to nine months’ confinement and given a bad-conduct discharge last week after pleading guilty to larceny, burglary and conspiracy to commit burglary.

Dalton, with the 727th Air Mobility Squadron at Mildenhall, also was demoted to E-1 and ordered to forfeit $500 of his pay for two months at the conclusion of his court-martial.

The airman was among three men who broke into the off-base home of a technical sergeant in December while she was deployed to Iraq. The men smashed a window to get into the house near Mildenhall and stole a 37-inch TV, 200 DVDs, 100 CDs and two cable TV receiver boxes, said prosecutor Capt. Lisa Richard.

Dalton did not know the deployed sergeant but knew she was out of the country, Richard said.

Senior Airman Stony Simon — an alleged co-conspirator in the case — knew the victim and had been to her house, Richard said.
