I don't think many people realize how tenuous their security is right now. I remember in the 60s when I graduated from high school just thinking that paying my tuition to college was enough to save my ass, but it wasn't. They changed the rules often with the changing tides of the conflict in Vietnam. I ended up getting drafted into a fight I didn't believe in.
I think that what Kerry said was poorly timed but true. He is our generation and knows the dangers of complacency. The present generation could be called up at any time. The misadministration in Washington right now has pumped the well dry and poisoned it for the all volunteer army. The only way they are going to be able to pursue their plan of perpetual war is to re-enact some sort of draft. Even the back door draft is running out now and they can't keep throwing reservists into the fray because soon they will have served their terms and you can bet they won't be volunteering for more.
I am sick and tired of democrats apologizing every time they step on the toes of this administration. These chickenhawk sons of a bitches can sure dish it out, but they can't take it. Screw them. When we let these pimple butted, multiple deferremented, dipshits get away with their crap then we aren't doing our duty. We need to slap them down at every opportunity. All I can say is go Kerry, keep it up and to hell with the cowardly bastards that got us into this mess.
The greedy neocon shitheads that got us into this mess should all be prosecuted for war crimes. And to the snarky comment I got earlier about being a "Kerry vet" who drove people away, well I'll vote for a democratic vet every time. Whenever I hear about a Repub vet I wonder if they can still remember the serial number on their goddam typewriter. Veterans flocked to Kerry by the droves, it was only the lying bastards and swiftboaters who spread their poison that embarrassed and insulted the rest of us.
