U.S. Deaths in Afghanistan, Region

The Associated Press

(AP) - As of Monday, Oct. 29, 2007, at least 383 members of the U.S. military had died in Afghanistan, Pakistan and Uzbekistan as a result of the U.S. invasion of Afghanistan in late 2001, according to the Defense Department. The department last updated its figures Oct. 20 at 10 a.m. EDT.

Of those, the military reports 256 were killed by hostile action.

Outside the Afghan region, the Defense Department reports 62 more members of the U.S. military died in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. Of those, two were the result of hostile action. The military lists these other locations as Guantanamo Bay Naval Base, Cuba; Djibouti; Eritrea; Jordan; Kenya; Kyrgyzstan; Philippines; Seychelles; Sudan; Tajikistan; Turkey; and Yemen.

There were also four CIA officer deaths and one military civilian death.

1. The Omaha World Herald is correct.
The Defenselink webite has a PDF file linked to it that shows details for OEF casualties.

Worldwide Total 446



Please do some more digging before posting allegations

2. Well, I read the Department of Death sites
but I don't believe 99% of the crap they spew. I'll stand by my comment.
