Link for those who want to learn about guns.
I was going to attempt to do this myself, but realized this site was more complete and up to date than what I could provide.

This link is information for those here who would like to learn factusl information about guns, and those who are considering whether or not they might want to own a gun for whatever reason, including defence of your self, home, etc.

If you are a violently anti-gun person, please don't bother to stress yourself.
If you are sincerely seeking information, this is a good site, although you may find things that seem a but right wing to you, please understand that this is about a neutral as it gets. The left's irrational antigun bullshit over the years has made most of the gun information sites on the net rightist-there are almost NO Democratic/progressive/leftist pro-gun sites except the ones listed on this forum and the "Guns" forum.

Link: www.learnaboutguns.com/

Again, thanks for your patience, I hope this is a learning tool for some, and if you are a hater, stay out and get a life.
Thanks.

2. I'm not really a gun person for several reasons
1. I live in Korea right now and couldn't own one.

2. When I lived in the states I chose not to own a gun. I do know how to fire them (US Army)

3. I am always interested in good information on most topics -- so thanks for your post

4. If people wanna own a gun - OK. I choose not to. Others are free to do what they want

Thanks again for your post

on note: The link worked on internet explorer, but did not on firefox.

3. Let Me Ask You Something, Mark.

When you look over the site you've recommended, what percentage of its content would you estimate is devoted to outdoor sporting activities, the kind of activities intended to be discussed in this forum? I've looked through it, and I'd say that no more than 5% of it pertains to traditional, recreational gun use. The rest of it is right wing gun militant propaganda, reviews of combat pistols and assasult-style weapons, and enthusiastic tales of shooting down human beings. In other words, the exact things that the DU Gun Dungeon deals with ad nauseum each and every day.

I have no doubt your motives were good in terms of the site's instructional potential. And I know that the administrators of DU still have not set up the sort of technical gun discussion forum we've been asking for. But I think that learnaboutguns.com would be much more appreciated in the Guns forum. Thanks for your understanding.

Paladin, I agree there should be a separete forum for shooters, etc, but there is not, and the site I linked is one of the least political (RW) I find that has some good information on different types of firearms.

6. We've Been Trying To Get A Technical Firearms Forum For Probably A Year Now.

I don't know what the hell problem the administrators have with setting up such a site; God knows it would be heavily used....
