I bought my first boat!!!
It's the ugliest damned thing you've ever seen, but she doesn't leak! It's a 16 ft aluminum canoe that I have big plans for all summer long. (OK, so I'm a girl and this is a really big thing for me) I plan on painting it bright yellow with white daisies lining the rim, in which case I don't think any of my boyfriends will be tagging along my fishing retreats!

1. Good for you.
Arkansas, as you know, is full of great places to paddle a canoe. My first boat was a big old honkin' aluminum canoe that weighed about a hundred pounds-I had it for about twenty five years til some slacker stole it a few years ago. Now, I have a whole fleet-striper boat, pirogue, 12 foot semi vee, and a native ultimate kayak. You are stuck, I'm afraid.

5. Awesome!! It is getting to be great boating weather.
And the cool thing about canoes and kayaks is that you can go places that you'd never be able to go with a powerboat.

6. What you say about canoes and kayaks is right.
I have had a power boat and a fairly large sailboat but downsized to a few kayaks. Absolutely love the ability to do what I want, when I want without any hassle. Toss it on the car, head down to the lake or river, paddle around, take pictures, go fishing, or just laze around.
Not to mention...great exercise.
