Still no debate in the Senate
Edited on Tue Feb-06-07 03:59 PM by TayTay
Sen. McConnell was on the floor saying, in his oily way, that the Dems are being unreasonable. All he wants is for 3 amendments to be debated. He wants 3 Amendments and only three amendments that cannot be changed, btw. McConnell wants McCain, Gregg and Warner/Levin.

Sen. Reid says, everything but the Gregg amendment. Reid is even agreeing to the 60 votes to pass thing.

Oooh, that's new. If the Senate can't get it's act together this week on Iraq, Reid proposes beginning the President's day recess after this week. This would mean 2 weeks off?

McConnell, no dice. Reid, no dice to his proposal. So the Senate is in stalemate on whether or not to debate Iraq. Reid is threatening to send the Senate home so that all Senators can hear from their constituents. LOL! Reid believes that the Repub Senators would not be hearing positive things from their constituents.
