KERRY, UNPLUGGED. Like Al Gore before him, John Kerry has finally set his presidential hopes aside. And, like Gore before him, he's using the occasion of their demise as a chance to boldly undertake more clearly liberal actions than he might otherwise have done. Political Insider reports:

word on Capitol Hill is that Sen. John Kerry (D-MA) is embarking on a major national campaign to end the Iraq war and has pledged to spend a considerable amount of his campaign war chest on the effort. On Sunday morning, Kerry will appear on This Week with George Stephanopoulos to kick off the campaign which seeks to have all American troops home within a year....

According to CNN, Kerry has a total of $7.4 million saved in his 2004 presidential primary account and his Senate campaign account. He also has $5 million saved away in a special account reserved for legal and accounting costs related to his 2004 general election campaign.

As much as people want presidential candidates to be bold leaders, it's starting to look like the real ones are the former presidential candidates.

3. Wonderful find. I was happy to read this.
And the records at the FEC show a bit more cash on hand that this. LOL!

Sen. Kerry really and truly sounds freed to pursue his agenda without all the consultants getting in his way. I do think that the cause of ending the war and bringing up the greater questions of what happens in the Middle East, what is the role of American foreign policy in a changed world and how we deal with that is close to his heart. (This was a guy who, when given the choice of committees when he first got to the Senate in 1985, wrote "Foreign Policy" down in all 3 slots. This is what he came to DC to do. It is beyond sad that he has to repeat some of his actions from before, but this is what Kerry wanted to do when he went to the Senate. He is in the right place and is doing what he needs to be doing.)

4. Spending money to bypass the mainstream media would help.
Thanks, whome. You mean the Dems have a leader other than Clinton? Nice.
