I almost forgot to post this in time--heard it on Late Edition yesterday. I always like seeing Max!

3. damn he's good!
Edited on Mon Mar-12-07 06:51 PM by ginnyinWI
He was just on about halfway through the hour. And he was fired up and angry.

He first talked about how PTSD/emotional wounds are the worst kind--because they keep on getting worse and people slide into depression, alcoholism, drug use, and suicide. And this is coming from a guy so very physically wounded. He said you go to war and bring it back emotionally with you--and that the current facilities are overwhelmed because of the long period of time we've been at war.

He said that he'd say to the administration, (echoing how Colin Powell said "you break it, you own it"), that if you break young people, you own them--and owe them all the help they need.

Wolf played a clip of Cheney growling about Al Qaeda and we can't leave, etc, and Max responded, "Where the Hell were you in the Vietnam war? Maybe you would have learned something about war if you'd have gone like the rest of us!" And to * he'd say, "You screwed up royally!"

His solution to Iraq is to withdraw ground forces and solve this thing diplomatically, and then go after Al Qaeda in places that they actually are, that we are ignoring.

Hopefully there will be a video up of this.

4. Hope so!
And wish to heaven I'd been smart enough to be following the Senate when he was there....

6. Wahoo!
That was bracing -- thanks for the link, Ginny!!!

I hate the pain and frustration I imagine he and other veterans are feeling, but I love the truth he's telling.
