Totally OT: A Massachusetts Liberal in South Dakota
I know this is totally off-topic, so I hope you'll pardon the intrusion. But I am being sent on a business trip to Sioux Falls, South Dakota for a week at the end of this month. I've never been to that part of the country before, and will likely be done with work by around 3:30 PM each day. Do any of my fellow Kerrycrats have suggestions for interesting things to do/places to go in that area?

I posted a question a while back about this in the DU South Dakota forum, but have gotten no responses in the 10 days since. I posted in GD, and got a couple of fairly non-specific responses before it sunk down the list. So I figured I'd run the question by my pals here in JK-land. :)

2. If you follow the Democracy Cell Project blog,
write to "Not My President". She's a native of South Dakota (or if not South Dakota, then North Dakota, but she should know something about South Dakota, too) . Or I can give you her email address if you send me an email. She should have some ideas.
For sure you should go up the tower and look at the view of the falls themselves. . I just googled "sioux falls" and got a whole bunch of chamber of commerce/tourism websites. . also , there's a wonderful wildnerness prairie reserve, Kayler (spelling????) Prairie, in the northwest corner of Iowa, which could be neat if you like that sort of thing, and you have a car, and things are in bloom. I was there once in June and it was fantastic. . Judging from the map, it should be pretty close to Sioux Falls
Everything I know about is in the west side of the state-- the Badlands, Mt. Rushmore, Black Hills, etc e
