Just said on MSNBC: John Kerry rec'd the same % of the AA vote in LA as BHO

Barack Obama received 82% of the AA vote in LA.

John Kerry received 83% of the AA vote in the '04 LA primary.

I think this was mentioned to show that AAs aren't against voting for the white candidate. Still, I was glad to hear them show how he got broad support from the Dem base.

2. Kerry won many southern states in the Primary because of the black vote

he got huge majorities of the black vote in many of the southern states along with white women and support from vets gave him wins.

remember, he was competing with Wes Clark and John Edwards also in the South.
