2. Heh -- Adam B, a former law student of Obama's, is saying he is willing to help out Beatty:

Blackwell: Obama's lesson

If state Rep. Tommy Blackwell is looking for someone to blame for getting knocked off the Democratic primary ballot, here's a nominee: Barack Obama.

Obama's political career got off to a jumpstart in 1996 when he ran for the state Senate and challenged the nominating petitions filed by all four of his Democratic rivals. He won the challenges and became the Democratic candidate by default.

At the time, Obama was teaching constitutional and election law at the University of Chicago. One of his students was Somerton native Adam C. Bonin.

Fast forward a dozen years. Obama is running for president and Bonin, now 35, is a lawyer at Cozen O'Connor. A friend recommends him to Vanessa Brown, a West Philadelphia community activist trying to unseat Blackwell. Brown thinks Blackwell's nominating petitions look suspect, and Bonin takes the case. A couple of weeks later, a state judge throws Blackwell off the ballot.

Well, between having the master Obama as his teacher, looks like Adam B has an excellent track record in this sort of thing. :)

3. This was great to read
thanks for posting!

Poor, poor Ogo. I reckon a couple of the "otherly-winged" denizens of Blue Mass Group are feeling a bit sad today.

4. I though they were rooting for O'R. I rarely visit bluemassgroup because they give me a headache but
I never saw anybody supporting Ogo there.

But I was amazed when I heard that Ogo would not make the cut, even though I could not figure out why somebody who lost against somebody new in politics in the most conservative district of MA could excite the local GOP (if it still exists, of course).

5. There's a couple R's that post there
"Peter Porcupine" is the one I notice most often, but there are others. The site seems to be rather tolerant of republicans - almost like they're pets or something. :P

Here is a thread from Friday about Beatty's challenge:

http://www.bluemassgroup.com/showDiary.do?diaryId=11663

First whiner on the thread is another regular, "EaBoClipper".

(Oh, and I got the term "otherly-winged" from one of the frontpagers there using it - "otherly winged" as in, a nice way to say "not normal" (being as LEFT winged, sort of, is normal for that site))
